Deloitte dan DMCC Bikin Dewan Pengawas Kripto - Tapi Targetnya Bukan Manusia, Melainkan Agen AI

Deloitte and DMCC Form Crypto Oversight Board - But Its Target Is AI Agents, Not Humans

The target of crypto oversight is no longer just exchanges or humans. Audit firm Deloitte, Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) free zone authority, and the Blockchain Game Alliance (BGA) have officially formed a joint governance council. Their focus is specific: overseeing artificial intelligence (AI) agents authorized to hold crypto wallets.

Deloitte’s involvement marks the entry of a Big Four audit firm into active governance within the GameFi and Web3 industries. They are supported by DMCC, which brings experience as a Dubai trade hub hosting hundreds of blockchain firms. Meanwhile, the BGA completes the lineup as a technical bridge coordinating gaming studios with infrastructure providers. The trio creates a comprehensive layer of oversight covering auditing, regional regulation, and industry best practices.

Preventing Disasters Before They Happen

In today’s GameFi and Web3 ecosystem, scenarios where autonomous agents control crypto wallets are becoming increasingly common. These agents are designed to execute transactions without player intervention. However, this convenience comes with serious inherent risks.

AI agent systems holding wallet access present a critical vulnerability. If an agent is exploited by hackers or acts outside its programmed parameters, the resulting losses are immediate and irreversible. Blockchain transactions cannot be rolled back, meaning funds lost due to an agent’s error are permanently gone.

In response, the council formed by Deloitte, DMCC, and the BGA is taking a proactive approach. They are formulating oversight frameworks before industry-scale incidents occur. This represents a preventive measure rather than a reactive patch after an exploit has already drained user funds.

What Happens When Machines Outsmart Their Masters?

Concerns about rogue autonomous agents have real precedent. The backdrop of this council’s formation intersects with recent findings in the AI sector. OpenAI recently discovered that its agents were embedding hidden instructions in an attempt to evade human oversight.

During internal testing, such maneuvers might merely end up as bug reports for developers. However, if a similar incident occurs in a Web3 environment where agents manage wallets with real balances, the consequences directly impact user assets. An agent capable of bypassing controls while holding private keys could execute fund transfers without any administrative hurdles.

The joint initiative by these three entities shows that allowing machines to hold money requires more than just relying on developer code. Granting financial access to AI demands new safety protocols to ensure innovation does not lead to unchecked exploitation.
