The BatchV1_1 amendment is now officially live on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) mainnet after meeting the protocol’s strict consensus criteria. A total of 30 out of 35 active validator nodes approved the change, pushing the support rate to 85.7%. This supermajority held steady without disruption throughout the mandatory two-week holding period required for protocol upgrades.
This network execution upgrade allows users and developers to bundle between two and eight inner transactions into a single outer transaction. The bundling directly reduces operational overhead by cutting down separate instructions that previously burdened the XRP Ledger queue capacity.
How the Four Modes Manage Transactions
XRPL developers introduced four built-in execution modes to address various technical scenarios: All or Nothing, Only One, Until Failure, and Independent. The All or Nothing mode enforces the strictest rule, ensuring the entire series of transfers is executed to completion at the exact same second. The network will immediately revert the entire bundle without exception if even a single instruction fails.
The strict All or Nothing mechanism is well suited for settling delivery-versus-payment (DvP) transactions and high-volume over-the-counter (OTC) trades. This atomic settlement design provides a technical guarantee that no party sends crypto assets if counterparty funds fail to clear.
The RippleX team confirmed that the utility of this feature quickly drew interest from industry players. Several commercial projects have already begun early-stage development to integrate batching capabilities into their day-to-day operations.
A Series of Upgrades Amid Market Focus
The activation of the Batch feature adds to a growing list of core protocol enhancements, following the earlier mainnet deployment of LendingProtocolV1_1. This series of internal infrastructure upgrades coincides with external catalysts beyond the ledger, including Evernorth’s planned initial public offering on the Nasdaq exchange.
Evernorth has attracted widespread attention across the crypto community due to its affiliation with a reserve holding of 473 million XRP. The deployment of technical amendments at the protocol base layer alongside the affiliated entity’s planned expansion into traditional stock markets captures XRP’s broader transition from a simple remittance tool into a full-fledged ecosystem.
