The X account @PlayToEarn, which has 83,603 followers, has just added a new title to their directory. Olden Era, a game operating under the @olden_era_io account and transacting with OEM tokens, is now officially listed as a browser-based card battle game. This initial announcement immediately garnered 53 likes and 7 reposts on the social platform.
Playing purely in the Web3 space, Olden Era chose the Player versus Environment (PvE) route instead of player-versus-player battles. Its gameplay mechanics center around battle deck composition: players lead one commander supported by nine creatures to progress through 10 levels of fortresses or Citadels. This battle area extends from the Runestone starting point to the finish line at the Sun Temple.
Purely Player-Owned Economy
The selling point brought by the developer centers on a user-controlled economy. Every time players defeat an opponent within a citadel, they receive victory rewards in the form of gold coins, new card additions, and OEM tokens. All of these looted assets go directly into the player’s wallet and become their full property, without any cuts or unilateral withholding from the game system.
This ownership model tests market interest amid a fast-moving shift in Web3 audience traction. PlayToEarn’s daily data report shows dynamic player attention rotation in the last 24 hours. Veilbound leads traction figures with a 23.83% increase, followed by Token Hunters App, which rose 7.14%. Conversely, legacy crypto card games like Gods Unchained recorded a 14.93% drop in activity over the same timeframe.
Facing the Dominance of the Polygon Network
Olden Era’s move to build its player base faces challenges from the already massive GameFi ecosystem. The Play-to-Earn gaming sector on the Polygon network currently reports managing 2 million active mining accounts and 20,000 virtual land owners. This land is inhabited by a lineup of established projects ranging from GalFi, Metaspace, RollerCoin, The Sandbox, to Sunflower Land.
For fans of the card tactics genre, this new browser game offers an option for those who want to hold full control over their earned assets. Olden Era’s main task now is not just designing challenging citadel levels, but drawing out thousands of players who are currently still investing their time in other ecosystem lands.
