Sui Cetak Rekor 40,6 Juta TPS di Singapura - Tapi Transaksi Sebanyak Itu Bukan untuk Manusia

Sui Sets 40.6 Million TPS Record in Singapore - But That Scale Isn’t for Humans

The Sui Foundation recorded a peak throughput of 40.6 million transactions per second (TPS) during a live demonstration at the Sui Basecamp conference in Singapore. Mysten Labs co-founder and Chief Product Officer Adeniyi Abiodun led the test firsthand. This latest milestone exceeded developers’ initial 20 million TPS target, while shattering their previous test record from July, which reached 6.1 million TPS.

To ensure data validity, blockchain security firm CertiK served as an independent auditor. Their scope included multi-layered verification of cryptographic proofs, examining execution logs, and reviewing demonstration journals throughout the event.

Easing Mainnet Load Through Microchannels

The tens-of-millions TPS throughput leap relies on an infrastructure dubbed microchannels, or programmable tunnels. During the demonstration, developers opened more than 10,000 channels on the Sui mainnet. These channels handled millions of micropayments, gaming interactions, and inter-entity messaging.

The mechanism centers on on-chain efficiency. Each channel requires only two footprints on the main chain: one on-chain transaction to open the channel, and another to close it via a cosigned mechanism. Between opening and closing, millions of transaction activities are processed entirely offchain. Only when the channel is finally closed are the accumulated interactions settled back onto the Sui mainnet. This microchannel approach keeps mainnet computational load light even as activity volume surges.

Not for Everyday Users

Mysten Labs management emphasized one key point - the ultra-high-speed infrastructure is not designed for retail user transactions. Instead, they built the microchannel network specifically for artificial intelligence agents (AI agents) requiring instant interactions.

The system targets the future operational needs of millions of autonomous software agents. The 40.6 million TPS figure offers an early glimpse into the shifting direction of blockchain scalability. As AI agents increasingly dominate daily task execution, infrastructure built merely for human scale will no longer suffice.
