October 2026 brings a shift to GameFi’s underlying infrastructure. The list of this month’s top five play-to-earn (P2E) games according to PlayToEarn has been officially released, with two slots filled by Hoodsiege and Siege Worlds. Both titles run on Robinhood Chain - a blockchain network built by brokerage firm Robinhood. The arrival of these two games marks an expansion of major traditional players into the core structure of the crypto gaming space.
Alongside Hoodsiege and Siege Worlds, this month’s top five lineup is filled by Solfarmer, Axie Infinity, and FarmValleyPlay. However, the surprise in this composition comes not from the presence of traditional entities, but from the game sitting at the top spot.
An Anomaly Without Tokenomics
Solfarmer took first place on the October P2E rankings with one major difference: the game does not have its own token. P2E ecosystems typically rely on tokenomics - issuing dedicated coins to provide financial incentives to players. Solfarmer’s top position serves as an anomaly, proving that a player base can be attracted without relying on minting new tokens.
On a different end of the lifespan spectrum, Axie Infinity still made the top five this month. This fact demonstrates the resilience of GameFi’s pioneer project amid rapid trend cycles and the launch of numerous new titles. In a separate subsector, popular farming game Sunflower Land also recorded a 7.76% increase in activity over the past 24 hours.
Lower Board Movements and Alternative Chains
While the top five rankings were dominated by established titles, daily moves from games outside the main list posted three-digit percentage gains. 24-hour trend data from PlayToEarn recorded the biggest P2E score surges led by Kokomo Games, which jumped 769.23%. This was followed by AWTG PlayDapp with a 763.64% move, and BitmonWorld at around 663.33%.
This activity volume was also reflected across supporting networks. Immutable registered a 37.71% increase as a leading blockchain powering crypto games. This rise was closely tracked by the Bitcoin network, which posted 36.9% growth as a game-supporting chain, while Binance followed at 36.89%.
This month’s rankings demonstrate that the GameFi space is beginning to move away from mandatory token launch models, alongside a more even distribution of activity across non-conventional infrastructure routes. Reported via @PlayToEarn on X.
