Crypto players are active in the gaming ecosystem once again this week. The latest data released by PlayToEarn shows the WAX network leading blockchain gaming activity growth with a 110.25% increase. Its current position confirms movements from a few days prior when activity on the WAX network was reported to have risen by up to 126%, making it the dominating infrastructure layer in the Play-to-Earn space today.
Competition below it remains tight. Polygon took second place with a 69.34% activity growth rate. Ethereum followed closely in third place with a 68.01% increase. For Ethereum, this positive figure in the gaming sector comes amid broader momentum, as the network is also recording a resurgence in Decentralized Finance (DeFi) activity and Non-Fungible Token (NFT) projects at the same time.
Hundreds of Percent on the Daily Scoreboard
The rise in network infrastructure activity has impacted the lineup of game titles built on top of it. Several projects recorded sharp increases in their daily P2E Score metrics. theSNKRZ led the pack with a 900% surge in 24 hours. Three other titles followed closely behind: DEFITofficial rose 890.91%, PlayOutlanders scored 847.06%, and zeedz_official climbed 740%.
This wave of moving numbers spread even to the lower ranks. Today’s metrics recorded play_dCUBE up 728.57%, followed by Crypto_ZeroFi at 617.65%. Meanwhile, NftPanda recorded a 600% increase, omniaverse 573.33%, and PlayAscenders at 560%. This series of three-digit figures underscores the dynamics currently occurring in the market.
It is important to note that the P2E Score is a specific metric designed to measure the momentum performance of a token or game within a 24-hour window. These figures do not directly reflect the volume of asset trading on exchanges, nor the number of active real wallets playing.
Leaving the Screen-Tapping Era Behind
Behind the movement of daily metrics, the player community is also shaping a new trend in how they consume crypto games. Player focus is starting to shift toward mobile games that eliminate the need for continuous “tapping” mechanics as a prerequisite for playing.
Several names are beginning to take center stage from this shift in taste. Titles such as SealMonCROSS, numineverse, HeroLaneWars, and AngryDynomites are said to be building a new trend. These types of games position themselves as alternatives for players looking for Play-to-Earn entertainment while commuting or traveling, without the need to tap their phone screens.
This wave of commuting players will test whether the dominance of infrastructure like WAX and Polygon this week is merely token speculation, or if there is indeed an adoption of game formats that is starting to take hold.
