Winklevoss Bawa Zcash ke Nasdaq Lewat ETF Baru - Eksposur Aset Privasi Saat Harga Naik 735%

Winklevoss Brings Zcash to Nasdaq via New ETF - Privacy Asset Exposure as Price Surges 735%

Winklevoss Asset Services has officially filed for a spot Zcash ETF with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to list on the Nasdaq stock exchange. The investment vehicle, under the ticker WINK, is designed to directly hold ZEC tokens. Security and asset custody have been entrusted to Gemini Trust Company, an affiliated entity serving as custodian.

The registration filing includes an initial funding commitment. Winklevoss Capital Fund and its affiliates expressed interest in purchasing up to $100 million worth of the ETF’s shares. While the indicated interest is non-binding, the figure provides seed momentum to attract conventional equity investors.

WINK’s fund structure purely holds spot assets and uses no derivatives or leverage whatsoever. To cover operational costs, the sponsor has set an annual fee of 0.25%. Investors gain a formal route to hold Zcash through standard brokerage accounts, without having to navigate specialized crypto wallets.

Selling Privacy on the Open Market

Nasdaq is now poised to become a new exposure venue for Zcash’s core technology. The protocol operates using zero-knowledge proofs that process transactions in a shielded mode. This cryptographic feature can conceal the identities of the sender, recipient, and the exact transaction amount moving across the network.

Its status as an anonymity-focused coin previously put the asset at odds with global regulators, yet its market figures demonstrate strong demand. ZEC was trading around $1,354 when the filing was submitted to the SEC. CoinGecko data records a 735% surge over the past year, pushing the asset’s valuation to $23 billion and securing its place as the tenth-largest cryptocurrency globally.

United States trading boards are not entirely new to Zcash. The WINK listing will eventually compete for market share with the Grayscale Zcash ETF (ZCSH), which already operates to absorb US investor capital. Grayscale recently announced a 3-for-1 stock split for its fund - an adjustment made in response to retail demand volume.

A Shortcut to Traditional Portfolios

The appeal of a spot ETF for capital market participants lies in separating price exposure from technical complexity. Privacy cryptocurrencies demand multi-layered security measures when it comes to self-custody off-exchange. An ETF product bypasses those technical hurdles, offering access to ZEC’s upside potential without the requirement of holding the underlying physical coins directly.

The entrance of an institution of Winklevoss’s caliber validates the legitimacy of privacy assets within formal finance. Once circulating in niche circles, anonymous cryptocurrencies are now gaining a launchpad into institutional portfolios under the oversight of securities regulators.
