XRP price edged up 4.1-4.6% over a 24-hour period toward the $1.13 range. This move was accompanied by trading volume reaching $1.27 billion, according to data from crypto.news and CoinGecko. The price increase aligns with a series of green signals from technical indicators and institutional capital flow metrics.
Crypto analyst Ali Martinez sees potential for further upside from two distinct angles. On the monthly chart, XRP price action is flashing a TD Sequential buy signal. Meanwhile, on the hourly chart, price action is forming a compression pattern within a symmetrical triangle structure.
This combination of technical patterns opens the door for a rally if nearby resistance levels can be broken. According to Martinez’s calculations, a breakout above $1.13 could trigger a 20% rally toward a target of $1.35.
The potential upside aligns with the Balance of Power indicator reaching 0.86. This reading signals strong buying pressure from market participants shaping recent price candles.
Institutional Inflows
Beyond price charts, substantial institutional capital continues to flow into investment vehicles. US-listed XRP ETF products recorded $6.78 million in net inflows over the past week. This fresh capital brought total holdings across regulated ETF products to 971 million XRP.
This absorption of supply from the open market is part of a broader trend unfolding throughout the year. Since the early months of 2026, XRP ETFs have absorbed nearly 1 billion tokens. The direct impact of these large-scale purchases is evident in supply dynamics, with exchange reserves dropping to multi-year lows.
Despite continuous demand from ETF issuers, the token remains well below its July 2025 peak. The stark divergence between institutional absorption rates and spot exchange prices highlights persistent historical technical overhead.
Why Downside Risks Still Loom
Amid the flurry of daily buy signals, an analyst known as ChartNerd highlighted remaining structural hurdles in the price action. Macro data shows XRP remains trapped within a broader long-term downtrend. This market environment formed following a bearish cross between the 20-week and 50-week Exponential Moving Average (EMA) lines in early 2026.
Bulls face the heavy task of proving upside momentum and confirming a daily trend reversal. The steepest challenge lies in the $1.24 to $1.28 resistance zone. This barrier serves dual roles as the upper boundary of a descending channel and a confluence of key directional moving averages.
As long as this resistance wall remains intact, the threat of a price correction lingers. If buying pressure stalls ahead of this boundary, the digital asset risks sliding lower to test support levels between $1.02 and $1.06.
Early technical indicators may flash green, but the real test lies ahead.
