71% Petinggi Keuangan Inggris Yakin Tokenisasi Rombak Pasar - Lloyds Buktikan Pakai USDC

71% of UK Financial Leaders Believe Tokenization Will Reshape the Market - Lloyds Proves It with USDC

Seven out of ten decision-makers in the UK financial sector now believe tokenization will overhaul global financial services. The 71% figure comes from the 10th Annual Financial Institutions Sentiment Survey released by Lloyds Banking Group. The poll involved 100 senior executives from major banks, insurance companies, financial sponsors, and asset managers across the UK.

The shifting focus has also driven changes in capital allocation. Survey results show that 77% of institutions identify new technology investment as their growth priority. This figure marks a sharp jump compared to 2025 data, which stood at just 41%. Adding to the findings, 64% of respondents plan to increase capital expenditure over the next 12 months.

Cross-Border Payment Test Using USDC

Lloyds Banking Group proved the scale of this enthusiasm through a live test on blockchain networks. The bank deployed the USDC stablecoin to settle international payment obligations worth $750,000, transferred directly to the Visa network.

During the seven-day pilot program, all funds reached their destination in under an hour. The cross-border transfer process was fully executed even though it took place outside standard banking hours. Real-world evidence reinforces the survey participants’ conviction: respondents ranked faster transaction settlement as the greatest benefit of tokenization. The speed of money movement surpassed collateral and liquidity management efficiency, which garnered 41%.

UK Digital Economy Roadmap for 2027

Private adoption aligns closely with infrastructure initiatives at the national level. UK Finance is currently building dedicated infrastructure for tokenized deposit services. The association’s roadmap sets a target for executing end-to-end tokenized repo transactions by spring 2027.

Early 2027 is also scheduled for the launch of the UK’s first digital government bond. The national initiative is accompanied by plans to issue three specialized digital bonds in the first quarter of the same year. The government’s tokenization strategy projects that this systemic shift will boost state revenue. Widespread adoption is estimated to contribute up to ยฃ33 billion, or roughly $44 billion, to the UK’s annual economic output by 2035.

Traditional Finance Begins Embracing Crypto Standards

Lloyds’ cross-border settlement trial highlights the tangible adoption of crypto technology. Banking institutions are relying on stablecoins to move hundreds of thousands of dollars outside business hours, showing that tokenized systems are steadily transitioning from simple experiments into the backbone of mainstream finance.
