Arbitrum Buka Kunci 0,93% Suplai Saat Ethereum Jatuh ke $1.872 - Tapi Preseden PUMP Tunjukkan Arah Berbeda

Arbitrum Unlocks 0.93% of Supply as Ethereum Drops to $1,872 - But PUMP Precedent Shows a Different Direction

Ethereum’s largest Layer 2 network, Arbitrum, is scheduled to release 0.93% of its circulating ARB token supply on August 15, 2026, at 17:00 UTC. This supply addition coincides with sluggish market conditions, where Bitcoin remains stuck around $64,000 and Ethereum has just dropped to $1,872.

This release schedule is sourced from the DefiLlama token unlock calendar via community reports on CoinMarketCap. As of the writing of this article, there has been no official confirmation from the Arbitrum development team regarding the details of this unlock event.

Different Fates for New Tokens and Fundamentals

Token releases often trigger short-term selling pressure as the volume of assets in the market increases instantly. The basic logic requires new buyers to support the price and prevent a decline. However, the recent precedent proves that this downward effect does not always recur.

On August 12, the PUMP token from the Pump.fun platform actually rose by 27% right after releasing 6.875 billion tokens into the market. The release of 1.75% of the supply, valued at around $19.2 million, was absorbed without triggering investor panic. This anomaly confirms that the impact of supply increases centers on the strength of the project’s fundamentals or buyback prospects from the developers.

Arbitrum holds a dominant position as the network with the largest Total Value Locked in the Ethereum Layer 2 ecosystem, supported by consistently active DeFi activity. This scale of operation provides a buffer that may differentiate ARB’s price response compared to the token release effects on smaller projects.

Cleanup on the Other Side

August 15 is apparently not only an important marker for Arbitrum’s supply movement, but also serves as the service closure deadline for a different project. The Cyber project decided to terminate operations of CyberWallet and Passkey Wallet on the same day. Users of the digital wallet services are requested to quickly withdraw all of their assets from the platform.

The service termination step was taken because Cyber developers are now concentrating their resources entirely on crypto artificial intelligence infrastructure and Surf products. This shows how crypto projects adapt by discarding features that no longer align with the company’s core vision.

A Test of Buyer Absorption

The influx of new tokens into exchanges demands the presence of fresh capital to maintain current price levels. For day traders and ARB holders, this unlock date is a testing ground to see if the Arbitrum ecosystem can absorb the extra supply without hurting the price, especially when exchange liquidity is tight. Reported according to the CoinMarketCap calendar.
