Bitcoin Suisse Pangkas Separuh Staf Swiss - Geser Dapur IT ke Bratislava dan Vietnam

Bitcoin Suisse Cuts Half of Swiss Workforce - Shifts IT Hubs to Bratislava and Vietnam

Bitcoin Suisse plans to cut up to 60 of its 120 jobs in Switzerland as part of the initial phase of an international reorganization. The workforce reduction trims exactly half of its staff in the company’s home country.

The operational restructuring extends to Northern Europe with the complete closure of its IT development office in Copenhagen. The entire workload for back-office functions and software development will be transferred to Bratislava and a new operational hub in Vietnam. Specific details regarding the exact location in Vietnam, target launch date, and planned headcount remain undisclosed to the public.

Operating Costs Drive Decision

The decision to relocate the company’s technical hub is driven by efficiency considerations. Bitcoin Suisse CEO Andrej Majcen stated that the operating cost structures in Bratislava and Vietnam have proven to be significantly cheaper. Majcen emphasized that the restructuring is not an emergency reaction to crypto market conditions, but rather a long-term business adjustment.

The company’s financial health as of January 2026 shows a solid foundation to support the major overhaul. Bitcoin Suisse posted crypto assets under custody exceeding 3 billion Swiss francs, backed by 95 million Swiss francs in equity. Beyond the European job cuts, its Middle East business unit secured full regulatory approval in Abu Dhabi this past July.

Fate of Zug Headquarters

Since its founding in Zug in 2013, Bitcoin Suisse has expanded to employ around 200 workers worldwide. Moving most operations out of Western Europe will not end Zug’s role as the company’s global headquarters. The Swiss office will remain operational and will focus primarily on wealth management services for clients.

The final number of Swiss jobs eliminated could still change from the cap of 60 positions. The company is undergoing a mandatory consultation process with affected employee groups, with discussions scheduled to conclude on September 20. The final headcount reduction depends entirely on the outcome of these talks.

In addition to its footprint in Switzerland, Bratislava, Vietnam, and Abu Dhabi, the digital asset broker continues to maintain branch offices in Liechtenstein and Bermuda. This distribution of operations reflects a growing playbook in the crypto industry: concentrating high-net-worth client services in wealthy jurisdictions while setting up technical infrastructure in lower-cost regions.
