Ethena dan FalconX Siapkan Kredit $1 Miliar - Tapi Target Utamanya Bukan Pemain Kripto Biasa

Ethena and FalconX Prepare $1 Billion Credit - But the Main Target is Not Average Crypto Users

Ethena and FalconX have opened a $1 billion backed lending facility designed specifically for institutional entities. This funding is prepared to serve trade capital needs, corporate treasury cash management, and payment-related services at the institutional level.

This move reinforces Ethena’s new direction of seeking yield sources outside the decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem.

Rules of the $1 Billion Scheme

In this partnership, FalconX takes on full operational roles. They are responsible for issuing new loans, assessing the creditworthiness of potential borrowers, servicing payment installments, and managing client collateral through a special purpose vehicle structure.

To ensure fund security, all collateral will be deposited with a qualified third-party custodian. Ethena holds first-priority security rights over all assets in this facility. The rules for borrowers are strict: each loan must be overcollateralized, meaning the value of the deposited collateral must be greater than the amount of funds drawn by the borrower.

Shifting the Share of USDe Yield

Ethena Labs founder, Guy Young, emphasized that institutional credit is a massive source of yield that has rarely been accessed by onchain capital. This argument aligns with the current backing composition of USDe.

Ethena’s June governance report noted that their institutional loan portfolio has reached $310 million. This portion represents 6.9% of total USDe reserves, with an estimated annual yield of 4% to 7%. Other backing funds consist of liquid stablecoins at around 35% and tokenized real-world assets (RWA) at 11.2%.

The majority of USDe backing, around $2 billion or 46%, is currently deployed in DeFi lending protocols such as Aave, Morpho, Kamino, and Jupiter. This new credit facility becomes a route to balance that portfolio dominance.

Growing Institutional Footprint

This billion-dollar facility is not their first collaboration. Since September 2025, FalconX has integrated USDe into its spot trading operations, derivative contracts, and custody services. FalconX’s reputation on Wall Street is supported by dual licensing: the FalconX Bravo unit is registered with the CFTC as a swap dealer, and the FalconX Delta unit holds a FinCEN registration as a money services business.

Traditional financial institutions’ acceptance of USDe also has a history. In June 2026, BlackRock integrated USDe into Aladdin - an investment management platform overseeing $20 trillion in assets under management (AUM).

For the crypto market, this credit line expansion marks a shift in the utility of stablecoins. Dollar liquidity from the crypto space is now not only circulating as a lubricant for DeFi protocols but is starting to directly fund conventional corporate trade balance sheets.
