Jack Dorsey Sempat Tolak Stablecoin - Kini 59 Juta Pengguna Cash App Bisa Beli USDT dan Altcoin

Jack Dorsey Once Rejected Stablecoins - Now 59 Million Cash App Users Can Buy USDT and Altcoins

Block-owned payment application Cash App has officially integrated its Cash App Pay feature as a payment method on the MoonPay platform. This step opens the door for eligible users in the United States to purchase various crypto assets on MoonPay using the balances in their Cash App accounts.

Prior to this integration, Cash App maintained a strict stance by only supporting purchases of Bitcoin and USDC directly within its app. Through the new pathway with MoonPay, that limitation has been lifted. Users can now access Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), XRP, and other stablecoins such as USDT.

This access is not limited to MoonPay’s main website. The Cash App Pay payment feature is also integrated into the checkout process across MoonPay’s entire partner network, which includes major names such as Trust Wallet, MetaMask, Uniswap, Ledger, and BitPay.

Meeting Customer Demand

Behind the launch of this feature, there is a clear compromise from Block’s leadership. Jack Dorsey, the head of the company, is publicly known as a hardcore Bitcoin maximalist. He had even previously expressed his dislike for providing support for stablecoins. However, amid intense competition in the payments industry, customer demand has taken precedence over the founder’s personal preferences.

The target market is substantial. Block’s shareholder report for the second quarter noted that Cash App had 59 million active users as of June 2026. For MoonPay, this addition complements their list of mainstream payment options, which already includes other major platforms like PayPal and Venmo.

“Cash App is where tens of millions of Americans already manage their money,” said MoonPay CEO Ivan Soto-Wright, explaining the reason behind the addition of this latest payment option.

Part of an Ongoing Expansion

The move to embrace Cash App aligns with a busy series of corporate actions by MoonPay throughout 2026. The company has continued to expand its reach through a succession of acquisitions, beginning with Sodot in April, followed by DFlow in May, and Glide in July. They also accompanied these moves with the launch of a new product called PayBox.

All of MoonPay’s operations and expansion are backed by a dual legal framework from two major jurisdictions. The company holds a BitLicense from the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) for the United States market, while also being regulated under Europe’s MiCA regulatory framework through a license in the Netherlands.

For Cash App’s 59 million users, this integration streamlines the steps needed to enter the Web3 ecosystem. Funds held in the app can now flow directly into non-custodial wallets or decentralized exchanges, bypassing the need for conventional crypto exchanges.
