NFT Sales Hit $55.5 Million in a Week - CryptoPunks Collection Surges 1,066%

Data from blockchain tracker CryptoSlam shows that the global NFT market recorded a total sales volume of $55.51 million over the seven-day period ending September 26, 2026. This week’s transaction total marks a 57.17% increase in volume compared to the previous week.

The increase in capital volume came alongside a growing number of market participants. Seller wallet addresses rose 39.19% to surpass 150,410 addresses, while the number of buyer addresses also climbed 39.65%. In contrast, a sharp divergence appeared in asset transfer volume, with the total number of transactions expanding by only 5.93% from the previous week.

Ethereum Dominates the Market

The Ethereum network took first place in sales volume with $30.33 million, surging 113.52% from the previous week. This milestone for the leading smart contract ecosystem was supported by 19,043 buyer addresses, representing a 40.61% increase. Outside of legitimate sales, wash-trading volume on the network stood at $1.07 million.

The Bitcoin network ranked second behind Ethereum with $5.13 million in sales, representing an 18.33% increase in capital turnover. The oldest crypto asset ecosystem saw participation from 7,938 active buyer addresses. Beyond aggregate growth, the Bitcoin network accounted for two of the five largest individual NFT sales recorded during the week.

CryptoPunks Collection Surges

The influx of capital on Ethereum was driven by a surge in high-profile transactions, particularly within the CryptoPunks collection. Sales volume for the pixel avatar collection reached $8.24 million, jumping 1,066.53%. That capital flowed through just 85 individual transactions, alongside a 520% increase in buyer addresses.

The Courtyard collection on Polygon took second place on the weekly leaderboard with $6.56 million in sales, posting single-digit growth of 6.67%. The subsequent rankings were again dominated by Ethereum-based collections, led by Credits with $5.18 million in transactions, followed by the Argonauts project at $1.97 million.

Spending Patterns of New Participants

The gap between modest transaction count growth and surging buyer numbers indicates that capital was concentrated in high-value assets, evidenced by millions of dollars in CryptoPunks volume driven by a handful of sales. The presence of new buyers demonstrates that liquidity responded swiftly as legacy assets regained momentum. Reported by crypto.news.
