One billion XRP tokens were released from Ripple’s escrow system on November 1, 2026. The asset release, valued at approximately $1.25 billion, was split into two 500-million-XRP transactions as the token traded around $1.25.
Data from blockchain tracking services KKapon and XRP Live shows both transactions were finalized at 00:00:02 UTC. The funds moved from the escrow contracts to two Ripple-managed addresses, namely the Ripple 10 and Ripple 11 wallets. Based on market prices at the time, each transaction was worth roughly $624 million.
This early-month release continues the scheduled escrow mechanism established by Ripple in December 2017. At that time, 55 billion XRP was initially allocated into conditional EscrowFinish contracts to govern the token’s market release schedule.
Relock Pattern Over the Past Two Months
In practice, Ripple rarely spends the entire amount released. The company typically relocks a majority of the coins into new contracts shortly after the unlock process is completed.
In September and October 2026, for example, Ripple unlocked 1 billion coins and subsequently returned 700 million XRP into new escrow contracts. That pattern resulted in a net escrow supply reduction of 300 million XRP per month.
This relocking is a critical checkpoint closely monitored by the market at the start of each month. The volume of tokens returned to escrow determines how much new supply actually remains outside the escrow system.
Ledger Status and Escrow Balances
As of ledger records at 10:50 UTC on November 1, 2026, none of the newly released coins have entered new escrow contracts. The $1.25 billion in XRP remains in the Ripple 10 and Ripple 11 holding wallets without further movement.
This keeps Ripple’s total managed escrow balance at approximately 30.4 billion XRP. The community and on-chain observers are waiting to see whether Ripple will repeat the 700-million-coin relock seen in the prior two months or implement a different distribution scheme this period.
XRP Spot Market Price Dynamics
XRP’s spot price held steady near $1.25, up 0.08% over the past 24 hours as the unlock transactions were executed. This flat movement comes after the asset faced selling pressure in the preceding week.
Prior to this month’s unlock, XRP had dropped 2.89% over the week and declined 18.52% across October from the $1.49 level. The market appeared to absorb the $1.25 billion unlock without a sudden price drop on open exchanges.
For market participants and XRP holders, confirmation of relocking into new escrow contracts remains the primary data point to gauge how many coins will genuinely enter the liquid market supply.
