Samsung Hadirkan USDC Solana ke 82 Juta Ponsel Galaxy - Warga New York Dikecualikan

Samsung Brings Solana USDC to 82 Million Galaxy Phones - New York Residents Excluded

Samsung has introduced direct stablecoin access via the built-in wallet application on its smartphones. Starting Thursday, November 5, 2026, eligible Galaxy device users in the United States can manage USD Coin (USDC) on the Solana network through Samsung Wallet. Users can buy, store, send, and receive Circle’s digital dollar asset without having to install a separate app or write down private keys.

Approximately 82 million compatible Samsung Galaxy devices across the US fall within the scope of the new rollout. The feature puts stablecoins directly into the hands of everyday mobile users, complete with a specific fee structure and geographic restrictions.

Asset Storage at Coinbase Prime Vault

When it comes to securing user balances, Samsung is not acting as the sole fund manager. The integration operates through partnerships with licensed custodian Bastion and crypto exchange Coinbase. All user USDC assets are held directly in Coinbase Prime Vault, protecting smartphone owners with institutional-grade storage without requiring them to self-manage seed phrases.

The Solana network underpinning the wallet also unlocks cross-border remittance pathways. Samsung Galaxy owners can send funds directly to bank accounts across more than 60 destination countries. During international transfers, USDC balances are automatically converted into the recipient country’s local fiat currency before reaching the destination account.

Transfer Fee Terms

The fee structure is split based on the destination of the transfer. Samsung waives transfer fees for USDC transactions between Samsung Wallet users within the US. This waiver from Samsung also applies when users transfer balances to external crypto wallets, though third-party network fees remain the sender’s responsibility.

Fees apply when users deposit funds using a credit card or Samsung Pay, set at a 4% rate. Users also incur charges when withdrawing funds from the wallet to a bank account or debit card. On the other hand, new users who make an initial deposit of at least $50 receive an added incentive in the form of a $25 bonus balance in USDC.

Exclusion for New York Residents

Access to the stablecoin feature is subject to specific device and age requirements. Users must have a device running Android 13 or later. Additionally, the service is only open to US residents who are at least 18 years old.

Despite reaching tens of millions of devices across the US, strict geographic restrictions apply at the state level. Residents living in New York State are excluded from all stablecoin services. Galaxy users in New York cannot activate the feature or receive balances, setting them apart from tens of millions of users across the country.

For eligible Galaxy smartphone owners, sending and swapping digital dollars is now available directly in the native app without the complexity of managing private keys. However, before attempting an international transfer or chasing the signup bonus, make sure your wallet is not registered to a New York address.
