Visa, Circle, and Ripple Back Velocity with $10M Investment - Infrastructure Startup Valuation Hits $200M

Mainstream payment giants and major crypto players have rallied behind Velocity once again. The payment infrastructure startup secured an additional $10 million in capital on September 15, 2026, expanding its Series A funding round to $48 million.

The participants in this capital injection span across multiple sectors of the financial industry. Visa Ventures participated representing global payment networks, while Circle Ventures and Ripple contributed capital from the crypto sector. Alongside these three primary entities, the funding round was also backed by a group of strategic investors, including Haun Ventures, Translink Capital, and Mirana Ventures.

The $10 million top-up pushed Velocity’s post-money valuation to $200 million. Prior to this latest announcement, Velocity had already closed an initial $38 million Series A round in July 2026. However, strong investor demand led to an oversubscribed round, ultimately paving the way for the follow-on capital in September.

Bridging Two Financial Worlds

Investor attention is centered on Velocity’s core product. The startup builds dedicated infrastructure designed to connect stablecoin circulation with conventional banking rails. Rather than minting its own tokens, Velocity develops behind-the-scenes systems to streamline the flow of money in and out of traditional banking networks.

For token issuers, banking institutions, and merchants alike, moving funds between fiat and crypto involves numerous technical and legal hurdles. Velocity offers a comprehensive suite to address these challenges. Its network manages asset custody, liquidity rails, regulatory compliance screening, and final settlement processing.

The steady inflow of fresh capital highlights the sizable market opportunity for bridge infrastructure providers. Since its initial fundraising round in May 2025, Velocity has raised nearly $60 million from investors.

Corporate Money Movement Infrastructure

Visa’s involvement provides further confirmation of the stablecoin market’s trajectory. The payment giant noted that stablecoins now play a vital role within the global payments ecosystem. From Visa’s perspective, Velocity occupies a strategic position as a stablecoin-powered money movement infrastructure built for the enterprise market.

Backing from both fiat payment leaders and crypto industry players reinforces the long-term objective being pursued. Large enterprises are increasingly exploring cash movements over blockchain rails, and high-standard compliance systems like Velocity’s serve as a prerequisite before corporate money flows can operate at scale.
