New Investment Products Drive Positive Momentum for XRP
The digital asset market recorded significant movement after XRP-based Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF) instruments began trading on US exchanges. The launch of the product managed by Franklin Templeton triggered an 8.25% surge in XRP’s price over the past 24 hours, signaling a positive investor response to expanding institutional access to the crypto asset.
The ETF began trading on NYSE Arca under the ticker XRPZ, alongside the debut of a similar product, the Grayscale XRP Trust ETF (GXRP). The arrival of both ETFs also complements a series of similar offerings previously launched by Bitwise Asset Management and Canary Capital.
ETF Expansion Highlights Shifting Crypto Investment Landscape
Franklin Templeton’s entry into XRP-based ETF products is not an isolated move. The firm has previously rolled out various crypto instruments, including digital asset index funds and ETFs tied to Bitcoin and Ethereum. This strategy reflects a clear shift toward integrating crypto assets into mainstream investment portfolios.
According to internal company statements, the XRP ETF is designed to provide structured exposure to a digital asset that plays a central role in global payments infrastructure, adhering to higher standards of transparency and regulatory compliance.
Early Trading Activity Shows Moderate Market Response
Although official first-day fund flow data has not yet been released, a total of 768,692 shares of XRPZ changed hands on NYSE Arca. Meanwhile, Bitwise’s XRP ETF product reportedly saw inflows of around $118 million in the past week alone, indicating rising investor interest in XRP as a structured investment vehicle.
Regulatory Clouds Begin to Clear
The launch of these XRP ETFs comes after the conclusion of a nearly five-year legal dispute between Ripple and the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The lawsuit filed in 2020 was ultimately resolved, followed by a formal settlement in August with an agreement of $125 million.
Leadership changes at the SEC and a more adaptive regulatory approach are seen as crucial factors paving the way for the approval of XRP-based ETF products in US capital markets.
Strategic Implications for the Digital Asset Ecosystem
XRP’s entry into the official ETF space underscores the normalizing trend of crypto assets within the conventional financial system. In addition to broadening the investor base, this move strengthens XRP’s legitimacy as a regulated and structured tradable investment asset.
Moving forward, the arrival of various crypto ETFs is expected to accelerate institutional capital inflows into the sector while fostering more dynamic competition among global asset managers.
