Lembaga Advokasi Bitcoin Resmi Masuk Program Diplomasi AS - Bersanding dengan Kontraktor Intelijen Palantir

Bitcoin Advocacy Group Officially Joins US Diplomacy Program - Alongside Intelligence Contractor Palantir

For the first time in history, a Bitcoin advocacy group has officially entered the diplomatic program structure of the United States government. The Bitcoin Policy Institute (BPI) was announced as a founding partner in the Freedom Tech Excellence Program (FTEP), an initiative run directly by the US Department of State.

This involvement shifts the standing of crypto in the eyes of the state. BPI is not joining this diplomatic initiative alone. They stand alongside intelligence technology provider Palantir Technologies, defense contractor Anduril Industries, and the nonprofit Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation.

What Is BPI’s Role at the State Department?

Through the FTEP initiative, BPI staff gain the privilege to work alongside officials at the US Department of State. The primary goal of engaging private firms and research institutes is to defend digital freedom worldwide, a foreign policy agenda that now includes crypto technology as a supporting component.

The collaborative program outlines four specific diplomatic targets. BPI, alongside other partners, will assist the US government in advancing policies related to online freedom of expression, privacy technology development, countering digital surveillance practices, and establishing global artificial intelligence (AI) governance frameworks.

BPI’s Advocacy Track Record in Washington

Since its founding in 2021, BPI began its journey as a non-partisan research and advocacy organization. As digital asset adoption expanded, the institute took on a more central role in lobbying for crypto policy at the federal level.

One of BPI’s largest lobbying efforts has been the push to codify policies from the previous administration. They have urged that former President Trump’s executive order on establishing a strategic crypto reserve be swiftly enacted into binding federal law.

However, that domestic lobbying has yet to yield results. As of July 2026, the US Congress has not passed any follow-up legislation to act on Trump’s March 2025 executive order. With the strategic reserve bill stalled in the US Congress, BPI’s move into the State Department serves as an effective alternative avenue to influence crypto policy.

For industry players, this new partnership proves that recognition of Bitcoin’s utility does not always have to wait for congressional approval. While the domestic legislative path has stalled, Bitcoin has instead found a foothold in foreign policy as a tool of American soft diplomacy.
