Wallet Bitcoin.com Tampung USDU - Satu-Satunya Stablecoin Dolar Restu UAE Kini Rambah Jalur Retail

Bitcoin.com Wallet Integrates USDU - UAE’s Only Approved Dollar Stablecoin Expands to Retail

Bitcoin.com has officially integrated USDU into the web and mobile versions of its self-custodial wallet. USDU is a US dollar stablecoin running on the Ethereum network, and so far, it holds the status of being the only Foreign Payment Token registered under the United Arab Emirates (UAE) central bank’s Payment Token Services regulation.

This integration opens a new distribution channel for the token, which is just half a year old.

No Longer Just for Institutions

Since its launch in January 2026, USDU’s adoption has been largely concentrated at the institutional level and exchange liquidity provisioning. In July 2026, Zodia Custody added support for the stablecoin specifically for their institutional clients. A month later, in August 2026, the USDT-USDU liquidity pool officially went live on the decentralized exchange Uniswap.

The entry of USDU into the Bitcoin.com ecosystem changes this initial distribution pattern. Retail users can now store, send, and receive the token issued by Universal Digital directly from their wallets. Additional features such as swaps and buy-sell options are scheduled to follow in the next phase through the integration of third-party services.

The integration is also designed to expand further. Bitcoin.com plans to accept USDU as a valid payment method for certain services on its platform. The future roadmap targets using this stablecoin to facilitate direct transactions between users and merchants, although the availability of this feature will eventually be adjusted to the regulations of each country’s jurisdiction.

USDU holds a solid position in the Middle Eastern crypto market due to its regulatory foundation. Its issuer, Universal Digital, based in Abu Dhabi, is supervised and regulated directly by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) under the Abu Dhabi Global Market specifically for issuing fiat-pegged tokens.

This legal status acts as a differentiator given the region’s rules. Local UAE regulations set clear requirements: payment transactions for digital assets can only be conducted using actual fiat currency or a Foreign Payment Token registered with the central bank. With USDU currently holding the sole position as a registered Foreign Payment Token, collaboration with a global retail wallet provides them with a distribution channel free from regulatory barriers.

For crypto users, Bitcoin.com’s move highlights a new pattern. Cryptocurrencies heavily regulated by central banks are no longer confined to institutional vaults but are starting to find their way directly into personal digital wallets.
