Kevin O'Leary Targetkan Bitcoin $1 Juta - Tapi Komputer Kuantum Masih Menahan Modal Institusi

Kevin O’Leary Targets $1 Million Bitcoin - But Quantum Computing Still Holds Back Institutional Capital

Kevin O’Leary has set a $1 million price target for Bitcoin, but the road there faces a significant hurdle: future cryptographic security. The investor, widely known for his role on Shark Tank, emphasized that the threat quantum computers pose to blockchain networks must be addressed first. As long as vulnerabilities to these next-generation machines remain unresolved, he believes major institutions will continue to view Bitcoin merely as an interesting novelty rather than a core holding.

O’Leary shared these views on The Rollup podcast while attending the Avalanche Summit in New York. His appearance at the event also drew significant attention - he arrived wearing a $11 million 1-of-1 Shohei Ohtani baseball card encased in a custom Tiffany holder adorned with 110 carats of diamonds and 2.2 pounds of white gold.

Reversing Course on Ethereum

Beyond setting prerequisites for Bitcoin adoption, O’Leary openly revised his past stance on Ethereum. He admitted to misjudging the outlook for the largest altcoin, acknowledging outright that he was wrong about ETH in the past.

The conversation then shifted to the broader asset tokenization narrative, which aligns with recent moves by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The US securities regulator recently introduced the Innovation Exemption, a tailored framework allowing regulated platforms to begin trading digital tokenized equities.

Welcoming the SEC’s new framework, O’Leary predicted that the asset tokenization wave will continue to expand. Rather than remaining a short-lived technological trend, he projected that the tokenization sector will eventually evolve into the 12th sector of the S&P index.

Predicting a Single Winning Exchange

Looking ahead to regulatory clarity and potential institutional entry, O’Leary expects competition among crypto service providers to narrow significantly. He predicted that the digital exchange market will not sustain dozens of large platforms over the long term. Once the consolidation phase concludes, he believes only one crypto exchange will survive and emerge as the ultimate winner.

These predictions from the Avalanche Summit stage underscore the current sentiment among corporate investors. Institutional capital is poised to enter in greater volume, but firms continue to demand regulatory certainty and quantum-resilient network security before making full commitments.
