Waktu Blok Zcash Dipangkas 3x Lipat Mulai 5 November - 60% Fee Transaksi Dikunci untuk 2031

Zcash Block Time Cut by 3x Starting November 5 - 60% of Transaction Fees Locked for 2031

Private transactions are poised to become as fast as swiping a card at checkout. Zcash developers are targeting November 5, 2026, to activate the NU7 upgrade on mainnet. The upgrade brings a technical overhaul that will slash the network’s block time from 75 seconds to 25 seconds. This threefold speed boost revamps the user experience when sending confidential shielded transactions.

Details of the upgrade were announced by developer Sean Bowe. Five core Zcash development entities - including the Zcash Foundation, Project Tachyon, Valar Group, ZODL, and Shielded Labs - gave unanimous approval to the scope and execution timeline. Final technical specifications are slated for completion by September 30, 2026, immediately followed by the testnet launch phase on October 6, 2026.

The mainnet activation block height will be determined on October 20 after testnet performance evaluations are complete. With the block time compressed to 25 seconds, the number of blocks added to the network daily will surge. To maintain the coin’s inflation rate, ZIP 218 reduces the per-block miner reward to approximately one-third. This adjustment ensures that total new ZEC issued daily remains exactly identical to current issuance levels.

Future Subsidies from Today’s Fees

The NU7 upgrade package also introduces a concept called the Network Sustainability Mechanism (NSM). This economic feature withholds roughly 60% of every transaction fee on the network. Rather than being distributed immediately to miners, the full amount from these fee deductions is locked. This reserve balance is scheduled to begin flowing to miners as supplementary block rewards starting in February 2031.

The fee-withholding policy goes hand in hand with a previously ratified community decision. Earlier, ZEC holders voted by an overwhelming 98.9% majority to preserve the Bitcoin-style mechanical supply halving model. That vote recorded participation of 2.4 million ZEC, representing 66% of the eligible voter cohort’s supply.

Speed Without Sacrificing Privacy

Zcash’s foundation as an identity-protecting asset is rooted in its implementation of zero-knowledge proofs. This cryptographic framework enables a public network to verify encrypted payments without recording sensitive details. The system operates without leaking the sender address, recipient address, or the amount of coins transferred.

Through the NU7 rollout, confidential transactions will soon be freed from the 75-second confirmation hurdle. The 25-second interval brings privacy crypto on par with the speed routine of everyday retail payments. With technical challenges resolved, it is now up to users to see how quickly they adapt once the delay is eliminated.
