London Stock Exchange Buka Perdagangan Malam 2027 - Imbas Tekanan Bursa Kripto 24 Jam

London Stock Exchange to Open Overnight Trading in 2027 - Driven by 24-Hour Crypto Market Pressure

Traditional exchanges are beginning to play by the crypto world’s rules. The London Stock Exchange (LSE) plans to launch an overnight trading venue in the first half of 2027. These additional operating hours will run from 17:00 to 07:50 London time, flanking the main market which will maintain its regular schedule from 08:00 to 16:30.

The move is acknowledged as a direct response to the growth of round-the-clock crypto platforms and tokenized equity products. At its initial launch, the new LSE venue will only offer exchange-traded instruments such as ETFs and ETPs that specifically track US and UK stock market movements.

Meeting Retail Trader Demand

The appeal of continuous trading is proving increasingly difficult for major financial institutions to ignore. According to LSE CEO Julia Hoggett, the plan stems from growing demand from retail traders to utilize London facilities, given the city’s strategic time zone position as a bridge across global trading hours.

LSE is not alone in taking this path. It joins a global wave of stock exchanges gradually being compelled toward a 24-hour trading model. Competition from crypto markets is forcing conventional players to overhaul their infrastructure if they do not want to be left behind by customers accustomed to instant access at any time.

The Challenge of Tokenized Stocks

The boundary between conventional and digital exchanges is indeed blurring further. Earlier, crypto platforms like Backpack entered this race for round-the-clock stock markets. Backpack offers tokenized stock products that can be traded 24 hours a day, seven days a week directly on top of blockchain networks.

This digital equity model is what challenges the dominance of traditional stock exchanges. A new generation of traders is increasingly reluctant to wait for the opening bell the next morning just to execute portfolio strategies. Crypto platforms provide a way out of standard business hours, and now European exchange giants like LSE are stepping into the arena to match that service standard.

Time Boundaries Begin to Fall

This announcement demonstrates that the pace set by the digital asset industry is capable of forcing traditional financial pillars to keep up. When money never sleeps, market operators are ultimately compelled to stay awake. Reported by Cointelegraph.
