Hari Doge Dirayakan di Monumen Kabosu - Koinnya Tertinggal 90% dari Rekor saat EVM Mulai Diuji

Doge Day Celebrated at Kabosu Monument - Coin Lags 90% Below Record as EVM Testing Begins

Sakura Furusato Square in Sakura City, Japan, became the gathering point for Dogecoin supporters on November 2, 2026. Their presence coincided with International Doge Day to commemorate Kabosu, the Shiba Inu behind the creation of the Doge meme. Held on Kabosu’s birthday, the annual event was free and open to the public. Kabosu’s owner, Atsuko Sato, attended in person alongside the local mayor and representatives from the Own The Doge organization.

The park is home to a bronze monument of Kabosu unveiled on November 2, 2023. The memorial statue was funded through a community crypto crowdfunding campaign, which raised $42,000 in its first 72 hours and nearly $100,000 in total. Before her photo went viral and inspired Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer to launch Dogecoin in December 2013, Kabosu was rescued from a puppy mill by Sato, a kindergarten teacher. The famous canine passed away on May 24, 2024, at the age of 18.

Tributes also poured in across the digital realm. Developers of DogeOS and FLOKI shared official messages on X celebrating Kabosu’s legacy and the community principle: “Do Only Good Everyday”. Yet behind the celebratory atmosphere in Japan, DOGE’s trading charts painted a contrasting picture.

90 Percent Away from All-Time High

As the commemoration took place, DOGE changed hands around $0.07371. This reflected a 2.1% correction over 24 hours and a 4.4% decline over the week. Measured from its peak price in history, DOGE remains about 90% below its all-time high.

Despite being down significantly from its heyday, Dogecoin’s market scale has not fallen from the top tier. Its market capitalization stands at $11.5 billion, ranking 12th among global crypto assets, with a 24-hour trading volume of around $367 million.

Dogecoin Labs Consolidation and EVM Testing

Beyond spot price movements, Dogecoin’s development direction is being reorganized. The Dogecoin Labs organization announced the consolidation of MyDoge, DogeOS, and Such App under one umbrella. Led by Jordan Jefferson alongside Alex Lewis and Tim Stebbing, the merger aims to integrate digital wallet distribution, decentralized application development, and merchant payment solutions.

Efforts to expand the coin’s utility are underway via DogeOS, which opened a public testnet for developers on September 30, 2026. The test network allows the execution of EVM-based applications using DOGE as the transaction fee token, spanning trading, lending, stablecoins, and gaming.

Between Nostalgia and Proving Utility

For DOGE supporters, the celebration in Sakura City highlighted the community’s enduring loyalty even after Kabosu’s passing and with valuations lagging far behind past records. The real challenge now shifts to the technical front: whether the Dogecoin Labs consolidation and EVM testnet can convince developers to genuinely build utility on the network.
