Token launch platform Memecoin.Fun has secured $3.5 million in strategic funding to expand on the Robinhood Chain network. The entire investment transaction was settled using the USDG stablecoin. However, the developers withheld details regarding the platform’s total valuation from the public release.
Venture capital firm Becker Ventures led the funding round alongside several other participants. The list of financial backers includes BitValue Capital, Mason Labs, and Negentropy Capital. Angel investor Billy Wen also directly participated in this early-stage investment round.
The fresh capital will be directly allocated to fund three technical initiatives. The top priority is building the core launchpad infrastructure on Robinhood Chain. The remaining funds will be channeled into developing a cross-chain bridge and funding research and development for multichain products.
Surging Memecoin Adoption Metrics
The focus on expanding across Robinhood Chain aligns with the Ethereum Layer 2 network’s recent performance. Since its mainnet went live on July 1, 2026, adoption figures have surged dramatically. Cumulative trading volume across various decentralized exchanges on the network has continued to climb, approaching the $9 billion mark.
Network load has also increased alongside the influx of retail investor capital. Robinhood Chain has logged heavy traffic, processing 6 million transactions per day with 250,000 daily active users interacting with the network.
The vast majority of that trading volume is driven by one specific sector. Memecoin speculation accounts for more than 80% of all decentralized exchange volume on Robinhood Chain. Transaction activity for these joke tokens has outpaced market interest in the tokenized real-world asset (RWA) sector.
Upgrade Pressure From Competitors
Memecoin.Fun’s position on the L2 is not without competition. The team must build its cross-chain bridge quickly as its closest rival, the Pons platform, prepares new firepower. Pons is gearing up for the launch of its upgraded system, dubbed Pons V2.
This competitor update will directly target two key exchange bottlenecks. Pons V2 promises direct trading infrastructure integration with Uniswap V4. In addition, it will inject supplementary liquidity routed directly from the ETH mainnet.
The move by Pons ensures that token launches on Robinhood Chain remain fiercely competitive. While the $3.5 million secures Memecoin.Fun’s operational runway, the platform must now prove its new infrastructure can withstand the challenge posed by Pons V2. Reported by crypto.news.
