NYSE Parent Brings Hyperliquid Perpetuals to the US - Backed by Stan Druckenmiller but Awaiting CFTC Approval

Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), has officially partnered with trade[XYZ] to build a perpetual futures exchange in the United States. Leveraging Hyperliquid’s infrastructure foundation, the exchange is designed to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The move brings together a regulated market operator with over 25 years of experience and a decentralized infrastructure provider.

Through partner introducing brokers, the new marketplace is set to serve eligible US users. The product suite will include perpetual contracts for stocks, equity indices, commodities, foreign exchange, and crypto assets.

Division of Roles Between ICE and trade[XYZ]

Both parties are dividing responsibilities according to their respective expertise. ICE contributes more than a quarter-century of experience in operating regulated markets, transaction clearing, and risk management governance. On the other hand, trade[XYZ] will provide the technology foundation and decentralized market infrastructure running on Hyperliquid.

A strategic investment also reinforces the collaboration. ICE has injected capital into trade[XYZ] for an undisclosed sum. Alongside this move, veteran billionaire investor Stan Druckenmiller joined the group of investors backing the new trading initiative.

Second-Quarter Dominance and HYPE Surge

On the Hyperliquid network, trade[XYZ] commands a dominant trading position. Since October 2025, trade[XYZ] has recorded more than $650 billion in cumulative trading volume on the network. In the second quarter of 2026 alone, its trading volume reached $202.36 billion, capturing 95.1% of the total HIP-3 volume share.

The partnership announcement with the NYSE parent immediately spurred the crypto market. The Hyperliquid token (HYPE) jumped by up to 13%, touching $91 shortly after the collaboration was made public.

When Will the Exchange Begin Operations?

Although the technical infrastructure has been established, the new exchange cannot begin processing transactions immediately. Plans to establish a designated contract market and clearing infrastructure in the US remain subject to official approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).

For eligible US market participants, the platform promises access to perpetual contracts ranging from equities to crypto assets through partner brokers. However, until regulatory clearance is issued by the CFTC, the 24-hour exchange remains inaccessible to the public.
