On-chain investigator ZachXBT has once again scrutinized celebrity token promotional practices by influencer Ansem (@blknoiz06), following allegations of fund transfers revealed by controversial promoter Sahil Arora. The allegations surfaced after Sahil shared blockchain transaction records that he claimed were promotional payments made ahead of the token launch by rapper Iggy Azalea.
The dispute between the two social media figures has reignited concerns over undisclosed paid promotions overshadowing the celebrity memecoin market, a practice that has repeatedly harmed retail investors.
129.5 SOL Transfer Record Ahead of MOTHER Launch
Sahil posted an on-chain transaction record showing a transfer of 129.5 SOL on May 28, 2024, at 00:28:42 UTC. The value of the Solana tokens at the time of the transfer was approximately $22,000. According to Sahil’s claims, the funds were sent to Ansem’s digital wallet shortly before the official launch of the MOTHER token by musician Iggy Azalea.
That transfer was not the only payment disclosed. Sahil claimed to have paid a total of around $100,000 to fund the promotion of the MOTHER token. He also promised to release chat logs and evidence of other paid promotional deals related to the 2024 celebrity memecoin market.
Denial of Screenshots and Explanation for X Spaces Appearances
Responding to the public allegations, Ansem vehemently denied having any working relationship with Sahil. Ansem stated that the publicly circulated screenshots of private conversations were fabricated, pointing out that the phrasing in the images did not match his actual writing style.
Ansem also explained the reason behind his appearances on X Spaces audio forums for celebrity tokens, including projects tied to Caitlyn Jenner and Iggy Azalea. According to him, participating in those discussions was intended to gauge the public figures’ intentions toward the crypto industry, rather than serving as paid promotion.
Why ZachXBT Chooses to Step Back from Influencer Drama
Sahil’s allegations drew a response from ZachXBT. The on-chain investigator reiterated that he has repeatedly warned the public about the dangers of promoting micro-cap tokens and celebrity memecoins. Despite repeated warnings, speculative traders continue to treat influencers as credible sources, ultimately turning themselves into exit liquidity.
Nevertheless, ZachXBT emphasized that he has no intention of entertaining repetitive influencer disputes. His work priorities have shifted toward probing large-scale criminal cases with measurable outcomes, such as a French bank heist, tracking money laundering by North Korean hackers, and addressing The Com syndicate.
For retail buyers in the crypto market, the conflicting claims between Sahil and Ansem serve as a stark reminder of the risks lurking behind celebrity token hype.
