Sony Konfirmasi Rencana Token SONEIUM - Jadwal Belum Diumumkan, Bidik Hak Cipta Musik hingga Anime

Sony Confirms SONEIUM Token Plans - Timeline Unannounced, Sets Sights on Music to Anime IP

Soneium, an Ethereum Layer 2 network developed jointly by Sony Group and Startale Group, announced plans to launch a native ecosystem token named SONEIUM on October 26, 2026. The crypto asset is designed to connect creators, copyright holders, app developers, fans, and investors within an ecosystem that currently hosts over 250 active applications. However, the announcement serves purely as an initial confirmation of plans: the development team has not yet released a launch date, total supply details, distribution allocations, or a token generation event (TGE) schedule.

The project’s expansion centers on Tokenized IP, a system designed to represent intellectual property and its economic value on the blockchain. Through this framework, creators and entertainment companies can issue IP Tokens for individual artists, production studios, or specific titles. The asset formats range from digital collectibles to tradable fungible assets. Behind this token launch, Soneium’s primary direction points toward one sector: entertainment industry copyrights.

From Anime Characters to Music Catalogs

The maiden project currently underway is Moriusa, a fictional character owned by Tokyo-based Super State Holdings. Soneium is leveraging tokenization to support Moriusa’s commercial expansion into merchandise, short animations, and commercial licensing. This model serves as a pilot implementation of digital assets for entertainment character copyrights.

Beyond individual characters, Soneium is designing financial instruments such as IP Vault and IP Bond. The IP Vault is structured to provide indirect investment access to entertainment portfolios like music catalog funds, while the IP Bond functions as a bond instrument backed by entertainment business revenues. This move into the music industry builds upon a partnership established in September 2026 with South Korea’s DayOneDream, which tokenizes K-pop copyrights via the WAVIST platform. All these projects will eventually be gathered within the Soneium Portal, a dedicated platform set to launch for discovering tokenized entertainment projects and participating in financing.

Three Technical Layers for Digital Licensing

Soneium’s copyright infrastructure is supported by three core technical components. The first component is the IP Registry, which records works and ownership data on the blockchain. The second component, the IP Graph, maps the relationships between original materials and various derivative works. The third component is the IP Execution Layer, a smart contract system that executes licensing agreements and automatically distributes royalty splits to rights holders’ wallets.

The system also incorporates support for ERC-8432, a new Ethereum standard enabling artificial intelligence (AI) agents to read and interpret content licensing terms across platforms. This standard is designed so autonomous software can directly comply with digital copyright rules without human intermediaries.

For creative industry players, the confirmation of the SONEIUM token clarifies Sony’s move to build a content economy in Web3. However, for the community and prospective investors, certainty surrounding the asset’s value still hinges on supply allocation details and an official launch timeline.
