Standard Asset Company (SAC) has announced a $1.5 billion investment strategy combining long-term Bitcoin reserves with real estate holdings across the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM)-based firm is dividing its capital allocation to secure digital assets while expanding its physical property portfolio.
According to corporate disclosures, SAC operates under the commercial name Standard Proprietary Company Ltd. under ADGM registration number 32213. The entity is registered as a proprietary investment firm that manages capital for its own balance sheet, rather than serving as a financial services provider for third parties.
Coinbase Asset Management has been appointed as the exclusive manager of SAC’s entire Bitcoin treasury. Brett Tejpaul, Co-CEO of Coinbase Institutional, expressed his enthusiasm for supporting SAC’s strategy as their exclusive Bitcoin asset manager.
Involvement of Royal Figures and Global Politicians
SAC’s ownership and advisory structure features prominent Gulf figures. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum, a member of Dubai’s royal family, is listed as both an advisor and shareholder in the company.
Alongside royal family representation, two international political figures are advising SAC. Former US White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney and UK House of Lords member Lord Iain McNicol are officially listed among the firm’s supporters.
Sheikh Mohammed stated that yield generated from the digital asset strategy will be allocated to fund investment expansion in hospitality and branded residences across the UAE. Profits from crypto assets are directed toward strengthening real-world assets.
Phased Purchases and Yield Strategies
SAC is structuring its Bitcoin reserve strategy through a phased purchasing program. Market entry decisions are tailored to valuation metrics and liquidity availability at the time transactions are executed.
The managed yield strategy is designed to generate recurring income while controlling liquidity risk and counterparty exposure. Proceeds from the yield strategy will be reinvested into two areas: acquiring additional Bitcoin and expanding select real estate holdings.
Institutional Capital Adoption Trends in the Gulf
SAC’s move reinforces the trend of institutional crypto adoption in the UAE. Previously, Standard Chartered launched direct crypto trading services for high-net-worth clients in Dubai in partnership with the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) and Zodia Markets.
For market participants in the Gulf region, integrating Bitcoin reserves with a real estate portfolio illustrates a new allocation model. Leveraging crypto yields to finance hospitality assets demonstrates how digital assets are increasingly being utilized to back internal business expansion.
