VanEck Rilis ETF Campuran di NYSE dengan Porsi Bitcoin - Sebut Formula Klasik 60/40 Ketinggalan Zaman

VanEck Launches Multi-Asset ETF on NYSE with Bitcoin Allocation - Calls Classic 60/40 Formula Outdated

US asset manager VanEck has officially launched a new actively managed exchange-traded fund, the VanEck Wealth Builder ETF, on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker WBMO. The product brings together global equities, fixed-income bonds, real assets like gold, and a Bitcoin allocation within a single managed portfolio.

VanEck has set a target Bitcoin allocation of 2% of the total portfolio, with a flexible tolerance band between 1% and 5%. Exposure to the cryptocurrency is obtained through spot Bitcoin ETPs, from both third-party issuers and the firm’s internal products, rather than direct physical custody.

Combining crypto assets with conventional capital market instruments marks a reassessment of capital allocation strategies long seen as standard practice.

Why the 60/40 Portfolio Formula Is Considered Outdated

David Schassler, Head of Multi-Asset Solutions at VanEck, stated that the traditional 60/40 portfolio - which allocates 60% of capital to equities and 40% to bonds - was designed for a past investment landscape. Schassler argued that the old formula is no longer adequate to handle current economic conditions.

The addition of real assets and Bitcoin aims to diversify risk and help investors navigate broader macroeconomic volatility. The fund’s exchange listing also broadens access to the Wealth Builder model, which was previously only available to financial advisors via third-party wealth management platforms.

Expansion Push Toward Retirement Funds

The exchange listing of WBMO marks the next step in VanEck’s digital asset expansion. In March 2026, the fund manager partnered with retirement platform Basic Capital to incorporate digital asset ETPs into 401(k) retirement plans for US workers.

VanEck’s total assets under management globally stood at approximately $244.1 billion as of late September 2026. That figure provides an operational foundation for the launch of the firm’s multi-asset strategies.

For investors weighing diversification, the ETF’s measured 1% to 5% Bitcoin allocation offers a middle ground: providing exposure to digital asset growth without abandoning the stability anchors of bonds and gold.
