Tom Lee: 'Wall Street dan Kripto Bakal Jadi Satu Pasar' - Perusahaannya Diam-Diam Sudah Kuasai 4,8% Seluruh Ethereum Dunia

Tom Lee: ‘Wall Street and Crypto Will Merge Into One Market’ - His Firm Quietly Controls 4.8% of Global Ethereum Supply

His prediction is bold, but his wager is even bolder. Bitmine chairman Tom Lee reiterated that the boundary between traditional financial markets and digital assets will eventually vanish - and Ethereum, in his view, will sit right at the center of that transition. “TradFi and crypto will be the same market,” he stated, as quoted on X.

Those words are not mere empty rhetoric. Behind the scenes, the firm he leads is building one of the largest corporate Ethereum treasuries in the world.

Numbers That Stun Analysts

Bitmine announced last week that it holds 5,742,237 ETH - equivalent to roughly 4.8% of Ethereum’s total circulating supply of approximately 120.7 million ETH. The company’s total combined crypto holdings, cash, marketable securities, and other investments are estimated at $11.1 billion (around Rp180 trillion). In its latest weekly purchase alone, Bitmine added 27,084 ETH. Beyond Ethereum, the firm also holds 206 Bitcoin and $527 million in cash and marketable securities.

Lee tied Ethereum’s long-term prospects to the trajectory of US crypto regulation. He noted that investors are increasingly optimistic about the CLARITY Act’s progress in Congress, arguing that regulatory clarity will strengthen smart contract platforms as digital assets become more deeply integrated into payments and financial services.

Real-World Adoption Underway

To back his argument, Lee pointed to commercial activity already taking place on Ethereum layer-2 networks. According to Lee, corporate giants such as Shopify and Visa are already processing USDC-related transactions via Ethereum scaling networks - tangible adoption that extends far beyond mere speculation. At the time of writing, Ether was trading around $1,800, virtually flat over the past 24 hours but up 2.2% over the week.

Lee’s conviction in Ethereum is nothing new - he noted having held this bullish stance for nearly six years. What has changed is the scale of the bet. When someone not only forecasts the future but stakes billions of dollars to back that forecast, the market pays attention. Even so, such a massive concentration of ownership within a single entity presents a double-edged sword: serving as both a pillar of strength and a notable vulnerability for the Ethereum ecosystem.
