An anonymous trader turned an initial capital of 0.49 ETH - roughly Rp13.6 million - into 580 ETH, or around Rp17 billion, from a single cat-themed meme coin named CASHCAT. The return reached a staggering 1,183-fold increase, a rare feat even in the meme coin world.
The data was uncovered by on-chain analytics account @lookonchain, which tracked the trader’s wallet buying 15.04 million CASHCAT tokens when the price was still pennies, before offloading the entire position once the price exploded. What makes this story even more striking: had the trader held on a little longer, the position’s value is estimated to have surpassed Rp47 billion - nearly double what was already banked.
Why CASHCAT Suddenly Exploded
CASHCAT rode the wave of euphoria surrounding the launch of Robinhood Chain, Robinhood’s Ethereum layer-2 network that officially went live on July 1, 2026. Whenever a new network debuts, meme coin hunters flock to find the first token capable of becoming the ecosystem’s flagship mascot - and CASHCAT happened to be in the right place at the right time.
The rally in CASHCAT consequently lifted a wave of other meme coins on the same network. It is a classic playbook: one token posts a massive profit story, steals the spotlight, and speculative capital rushes in searching for the next CASHCAT. @lookonchain even speculated that the lucky wallet might belong to a prominent crypto figure, though no confirmation exists.
The Misleading Numbers
A 1,183x gain is undoubtedly alluring, but it reflects a single winner - not the average outcome. For every wallet banking billions, hundreds or even thousands of others buy at the peak only to watch their holdings collapse shortly after the whale exits. With virtually no underlying fundamentals, meme coins can plummet just as fast as they soar.
The gap between the Rp17 billion actually pocketed and the Rp47 billion had the position been held reveals another reality: even massive winners rarely sell at the absolute top. Exiting too early is the cost of securing profits; holding too long runs the risk of watching gains evaporate.
Stories like CASHCAT will continue to fuel the meme coin market - not because they are easy to replicate, but precisely because they are so rare. For readers tempted to join the hunt, one crucial lesson remains: the viral stories in your feed belong to the winners, while those who take heavy losses rarely post victory threads.
