The official TRUMP coin account on X has announced plans to host a gala dinner for its top 185 token holders. Scheduled for November 22, the gathering will take place at Trump National, a Virginia golf club near Washington that also hosted the inaugural dinner. Organizers have also promised the appearance of three superstar guests whose identities remain undisclosed.
Determining the guest list relies strictly on a time-weighted scoring system to filter top investors. The metric requires participants to hold more tokens for longer periods to boost their holding score, with the snapshot deadline set for November 12. Out of the 185 invitees, the top 29 ranked holders are entitled to attend a special VIP reception with Trump and a guest dubbed a “legend.” As an exclusive bonus for the top four investors, organizers have prepared an 18-karat gold Trump watch. Despite the luxury, official event rules strictly prohibit any private meet-and-greet sessions with the president for all attendees without exception.
What Caused Sentiment to Shift?
The dinner invitations were made public more than two weeks after the failure to pass the Clarity Act in the Senate by a narrow 49-50 vote. Debate over restrictions on Trump’s crypto asset holdings proved to be one of the critical hurdles that derailed the regulatory legislation. Beyond legislative politics, compounding pressure has also emerged from the online crypto community’s reaction.
The TRUMP coin is currently trading at just around $2.04 in the cryptocurrency market, leaving its market capitalization at $576 million. These trading figures reflect a steep decline of more than 97% since its initial launch back in January 2025. On social media platform Twitter, investor sentiment has flipped negative. Many investors have begun openly accusing the memecoin project of being a rug pull scam, citing trending monitoring on Google News regarding the community’s fierce backlash.
Not a Cheap Competition
A large-scale gathering of token holders previously took place during the inaugural dinner in May 2025, which featured 220 guests. At that time, the 25 participants who made the VIP list posted an average spend of $4.8 million to maintain their top-tier rankings.
Heading into the November 12 assessment deadline, token-holding whales face a difficult dilemma amid tumbling market prices. Their eventual moves will show whether the prize of an 18-karat gold watch and a VIP seat is worth the risk of holding a depreciating crypto asset, or if they will choose to cash out instead.
