Uniswap Serahkan Operasional Unichain ke Optimism - Volume OP Melompat 128% Jelang Transisi Mainnet

Uniswap Hands Over Unichain Operations to Optimism - OP Volume Surges 128% Ahead of Mainnet Transition

Uniswap has officially confirmed the transition of all Unichain production infrastructure operations to Optimism under the OP Enterprise framework. The market reacted immediately through price action, with the Optimism (OP) token rising 9.17% over 24 hours to $0.1511, bringing its weekly gain to 25.47%.

Trading activity across spot exchanges surged following the announcement. Daily OP volume spiked more than 128% to between $226 million and $232.25 million, lifting the token’s market capitalization to $348.33 million with a circulating supply of 2.3 billion tokens. Beyond market performance, however, the primary focus of the announcement centers on the division of technical network responsibilities.

What Optimism Is Taking Over

The transition schedule has been established across two key dates. The testnet trial phase begins on October 13, 2026, while the full mainnet migration is slated for October 29, 2026.

Under the OP Enterprise framework, Optimism takes charge of operating the network’s core engine. These responsibilities include managing mainnet and testnet sequencers, providing RPC (remote procedure call) services, monitoring the network, and handling operational incidents in the event of system disruptions.

No Changes to Balances or Contracts

For asset holders and application developers, Uniswap stressed that the infrastructure handover will not disrupt existing systems. The network’s Chain ID remains the same, smart contracts are unaltered, and user balances are completely untouched. Deployed applications, including Uniswap v2, v3, and v4 protocol deployments, will continue operating as normal.

Unichain’s security model is also not being downgraded. The network will continue operating as a Stage 1 rollup utilizing permissionless fault proofs. On governance, smart contract upgrade rights remain under the control of Optimism Governance and the Security Council.

Asset Transfers Without Third-Party Bridges

The move is designed to enable native cross-network interoperability within the OP Stack ecosystem. Through direct integration, unified asset transfers can occur across chains without relying on external bridges, starting with ETH transfers in the initial phase.

Eliminating external bridges removes the security risks commonly associated with third-party intermediary protocols. Cross-network liquidity flows within the OP Stack ecosystem are now handled directly through native infrastructure managed under a unified architecture.

For OP token holders and Uniswap users, the ultimate test of this integration will arrive on October 29, 2026, when the mainnet transition officially goes live.
