CoinShares (Nasdaq: CSHR) is stepping directly onto blockchain rails for the first time. The institutional asset manager has announced an integration with Safe Labs and Railnet to deliver stablecoin yield strategies. Access to the investment portfolio is open directly through an “Earn” widget embedded within the Safe{Wallet} interface.
A non-custodial approach serves as the primary differentiator: investment positions remain held in users’ own Safe accounts. CoinShares holds no custody and maintains no discretionary control over investor capital. Under this framework, investors retain full ownership without having to surrender asset management authority to third parties.
Three Entities Split Roles Without Custodial Rights
The technical architecture of the integration relies on a division of responsibilities across three companies. CoinShares designs the portfolio strategies and sets risk management parameters. Safe Labs provides the wallet interface where investors monitor their capital positions, while Railnet supplies the vault infrastructure.
Railnet itself is a vault technology initially developed by Kiln. Railnet enables asset managers to deploy blockchain-based strategies directly into smart contracts without building custom infrastructure from scratch.
What Are the Estimated Yields and Who Is the Target Audience?
DefiLlama data as of June 23, 2026, shows global stablecoin balances across networks exceeding $315 billion. The integration targets this pool of market liquidity, with prospective users including corporate treasuries, foundations, family offices, blockchain-native organizations, and individual crypto investors. However, access is restricted for United States citizens and entities (US persons).
The growing investor appetite for predictable-income instruments aligns with CoinShares research published in August 2026. Real-world asset (RWA) deposits across DeFi tripled from $2.3 billion to $7.4 billion between Q2 2025 and Q2 2026. This increase occurred even as total DeFi deposits fell by roughly 15% over the same timeframe.
Estimated yields for the strategies analyzed in the research range from 3.2% to 5.5%. All strategies are provided by CoinShares Capital Markets (Jersey) Limited, alongside disclaimers that return rates are not guaranteed.
For institutional treasury managers and crypto investors, the integration opens up a new pathway: pursuing structured yields from an established asset manager without giving up control of their own wallets.
