While Bitcoin dropped 14% throughout the second quarter alongside a double-digit decline in total crypto market capitalization, user flow took a sharp turn elsewhere. Guild of Guardians, a blockchain-based RPG on the Immutable X network, recorded a 16.05% increase in players over the last 24 hours alone, according to PlayToEarn tracker data. At the same time, SnakeMoney Game followed with a 9.46% gain.
Capital and attention have not entirely exited the crypto ecosystem during the market slump, but have instead rotated toward alternative entertainment avenues.
Drivers of Network Activity
The boom across these games has directly boosted underlying infrastructure traffic. Three blockchains now serve as the primary backbones supporting global Web3 gamers. Solana leads the pack with a 93.79% surge in activity, proving its capacity to handle millions of in-game micro-interactions. In second place, the Binance network posted a 51.2% activity increase, followed by the TON network with 38.25% growth.
The congestion across these three networks aligns with P2E Score movements, which recorded sharp spikes in several specific game titles. The leaderboard shows Zed Run soaring 863%, outpacing many similar projects. It is closely followed by play_dCUBE, up 857%, and Rooster Fights with a 711% increase. This rotational flow of players from exchange trading to gaming ecosystems confirms that users are seeking utility when major coin price charts remain stagnant.
Why Independent Studios Are Winning
The percentage growth in these independent titles reveals new insights into crypto gamer behavior. Recent analysis shows that the pure play-to-earn trend is being abandoned by its own community. Players are now prioritizing gameplay quality, brushing aside outdated projects that rely solely on crypto token distributions.
This shift in market taste has claimed casualties among deep-pocketed players. While independent developers such as the team behind Guild of Guardians continue to attract new users, AAA studios are waving the white flag. Ubisoft, one of the largest traditional game publishers, decided to shut down Champions Tactics servers on October 30. The contrast between retreating legacy giants and skyrocketing indie projects paints a new picture of where Web3 competition is headed.
Today’s crypto gamers have learned from past cycles. They no longer want to waste time grinding repetitive quests for the promise of liquid tokens. If a game is not fun from the first minute, they will pack up their wallets and switch servers immediately.
