Bitcoin Cetak Juli Terbaik Sejak 2022 - Tapi Justru Rekor Itu yang Bikin Trader Deg-Degan Jelang Agustus

Bitcoin Posts Best July Since 2022 - But That Very Record Has Traders on Edge Ahead of August

At first glance, it looks like good news: Bitcoin is having its best July since 2022. CoinGlass data shows BTC/USD gained around 9.5% in the first two weeks of the month - a four-year record for July gains. But it is precisely this record that is making some traders think twice before celebrating.

The reason comes down to one word: seasonality. And history has a habit of repeating chapters that make for uncomfortable reading.

The Shadow of 2022

Bitcoin’s last bear market year, 2022, also began with a sweet July - closing nearly 17% higher after a 38% plunge the previous month. What happened next proved to be a bitter lesson: calls for a continued bull run turned out to be premature. BTC/USD instead tumbled around 14% in August, followed by another 3% drop in September. It is this very pattern similarity that now has many market participants cautious about near-term price strength.

Trader Daan Crypto Trades noted that Bitcoin’s performance so far is roughly in line with its historical July average. He cautioned that even when accounting for bull markets, the third quarter is historically Bitcoin’s weakest, averaging gains of just 6%. “This has a lot to do with a slower market, low liquidity and volume during the summer,” he noted.

Two Conflicting Scenarios

Analyst Rekt Capital added that Bitcoin price action in 2026 is closely mirroring previous bear market patterns. According to him, if history repeats itself, Bitcoin could enjoy a summer relief rally into the second half of July - before August arrives to wipe out the month’s gains and set the stage for a classic bear market bottom late in the year. Several market participants have already set a $70,000 target for the remainder of July, while others are eyeing the $67,000 to $73,000 range for short positions.

Interestingly, not all signals are bleak. Bitcoin was previously reported to flash several on-chain indicators pointing to a bear market bottom - for the first time in four years. That means beneath July’s bright chart, the market is holding two conflicting narratives. What is clear, as Daan Crypto Trades concluded, is that real volatility will only break out in the fourth quarter - in both directions. For traders, this record-breaking July may best be viewed as a pause before a major decision, rather than the finish line.
