BitMart Tutup Layanan Mulai 26 Agustus 2026 - Tapi Mantan CEO-nya Mengaku Didepak Tanpa Tahu Perusahaan Akan Bubar

BitMart to Halt Services Starting August 26, 2026 - But Former CEO Claims He Was Ousted Without Knowing Company Was Shutting Down

Starting August 26, 2026, BitMart will cease all trading services for its users, aiming for a full operational wind-down by January 31, 2027. The announcement dealt an immediate blow to its internal markets, causing its native BMX token to lose nearly 70% of its value and drop below the $0.10 mark. The exchange moved quickly to close new user registrations and reject incoming deposits. For active trading, futures markets have switched to reduce-only mode, while spot markets have entirely stopped accepting new orders.

Users attempting to withdraw their funds have encountered hurdles, with multiple reports surfacing of USDT withdrawal delays lasting several hours. BitMart addressed these complaints by stating that certain withdrawals require additional review procedures. Opting for an orderly wind-down enables the exchange to avoid formal bankruptcy proceedings. The decision comes several years after BitMart suffered a massive $196 million exploit in 2021.

Abrupt Ouster Ahead of the Announcement

Behind the shutdown, severe communication breakdowns at the executive level have come to light. BitMart’s former CEO, Nenter Chow, shared his version of events on X. Chow revealed that he was only notified of his dismissal on Friday, immediately before the shutdown announcement went public. He emphasized that he was never consulted or involved in the decision to dissolve the platform. The former executive only discovered the company’s fate alongside regular users after reading the public statement.

Is This Part of a Consolidation Trend?

BitMart’s exit adds to the growing list of crypto exchanges throwing in the towel this month, following similar moves by BitMEX and Dango. BitMEX is scheduled to shut down operations on September 23, a decision that triggered a 90% plunge in its BMEX token. The succession of announcements caused notable confusion within the Chinese-speaking crypto community, where the similarity between BitMart’s BMX and BitMEX’s BMEX made it difficult to tell which platform was collapsing.

According to analysts, the fall of these mid-sized platforms indicates that industry consolidation is well underway. Market share is increasingly concentrating among dominant players. Binance currently holds approximately 55% of global crypto user funds and commands 24% of spot trading volume. As activity concentrates heavily around single industry giants, smaller exchanges are opting for an orderly exit rather than struggling to stay afloat.
