Blok Ethereum Kini Dibelah Jadi 64 Bagian - Simulasi EIP-8411 Buktikan Waktu Kirim Anjlok di Bawah 1 Detik

Ethereum Blocks Split Into 64 Chunks - EIP-8411 Simulation Proves Transmission Time Drops Below 1 Second

Prototype simulation results for EIP-8411 show that the median propagation time for a 1 MiB execution payload across the Ethereum network can be reduced to under 1 second. This achievement from the simulation phase sharply cuts the duration required by conventional single-message transmission methods, which currently take around 5 full seconds to evenly distribute a similar payload across nodes.

EIP-8411 drives a leap in transmission speed through the introduction of a segmented broadcasting architecture. This new networking approach abandons the traditional distribution method of transmitting blocks as single monolithic units. Instead, an execution payload is split from the outset into 64 independent chunks before being broadcast across data traffic.

Eliminating Node Wait Times

Splitting data into 64 smaller pieces removes the latency bottlenecks that have constrained network speed. A propagating node no longer needs to wait idly for the entire payload to fully load into its hardware memory. As soon as the first independent chunk arrives, the node can immediately verify that piece and forward it to its nearest peers.

Independent verification of each data piece remains secure because every chunk contains its own security parameters. Each piece among the 64 total chunks includes an individual Merkle inclusion proof. This proof layer directly references the original payload commitment securely stored in the builder’s execution bid.

Route Transition from EIP-7732

Currently holding draft status as a networking EIP, the upgrade proposal specifies adjustments to inter-node gossip message routes. The single execution_payload gossip topic proposed by its predecessor, EIP-7732, is replaced. Node communication will transition to a new topic named execution_payload_chunks, purpose-built to handle the stream of 64 independent data chunks.

Despite overhauling the message topic, the draft EIP-8411 preserves the majority of Ethereum’s stable, existing networking infrastructure. The gossipsub wire format is maintained as the messaging standard. The network mesh topology remains completely intact, and the peer scoring system that regulates node traffic quality continues to operate under existing rules. Reported by crypto.news.
