Modal Rp13 Juta Jadi Rp16 Miliar dalam 2 Hari - 'Kucing Bawa Duit' Bikin Geger Blockchain Baru Robinhood

From $800 to $1M in 2 Days - ‘Cash Cat’ Sparks Frenzy on Robinhood’s New Blockchain

Robinhood launched its own blockchain on July 1 to bring stocks and bonds on-chain - but the first breakout star was a cat-themed token. CASHCAT, a memecoin named after Robinhood’s pre-rebrand mascot, surged several hundred percent in just two days. One lucky trader turned an investment of around $800 into over $1 million.

DEXScreener data shows the top five most profitable wallets took in nearly $3.7 million between them - with every dollar coming from the other side of roughly 12,300 sell orders. The token is running on Robinhood Chain, an Arbitrum-based network activated by the brokerage during a major keynote in London titled “The World Is Flat”.

The CEO’s Week-Long About-Face

The most amusing part of the story is the complete turnaround from Robinhood boss Vlad Tenev. On July 2 - just a day after the chain went live - he told CNBC that memecoins are largely a dead end, as “assets without utility do not serve a lasting purpose,” emphasizing that tokenized real-world assets are the enduring future of crypto.

Yet just days later, on July 7, as CASHCAT continued to climb, he posted on X that while his company built the chain for real-world assets, “it also works great for memes.” He even followed the token’s account. CASHCAT itself was not created by Robinhood; its official website describes itself as “fan fiction with a ticker,” casually stating its utility “is cat.”

A Fragile Foundation Behind Fantastic Numbers

Behind the glittering story, the foundation is shaky. CASHCAT carries a market cap of around $105 million, but it is backed by only about $6.6 million in liquidity across its Uniswap pools. This means the pool might not be able to absorb even a fraction of holders attempting to exit all at once. Value swings of tens of millions of dollars in hours could vanish just as fast.

Adding fuel to the fire, Pump.fun - the Solana-based launchpad that catalyzed the boom in ultra-short-term memecoin trading - announced on July 8 that it now supports Robinhood Chain tokens, enabling users to trade them without bridging.

Not Bonds, but a Cat Came First

Robinhood spent months positioning its chain as infrastructure for tokenized stocks, complete with day-one integrations with Uniswap and Chainlink. Yet what actually brought the network to life first was memecoin speculation - an honest reflection of what truly attracts the crowd to a new chain. The story of turning $800 into millions is certainly alluring, but it leaves out those who bought at the top or are still holding as the price retreats. On such a volatile stage, the line between opportunity and a trap is often as thin as a single sell order.
