Strategy has calculated up to $30 billion in digital credit capacity to fund future Bitcoin purchases. Strategy Executive Chairman Michael Saylor stated that the company possesses sufficient balance sheet capacity to expand its crypto portfolio. Saylor emphasized that these tens of billions of dollars can be drawn directly from its existing balance sheet without issuing new common stock or waiting for further Bitcoin price increases.
However, the $30 billion figure represents an estimate of the company’s potential balance sheet capacity rather than an official fundraising target launched to the market. Management has not released a formal offering program of that amount, but rather outlined the capital headroom that its financial structure can generate.
Preferred Stock Framework Replaces Debt Securities
The move marks a shift in Strategy’s funding approach toward preferred equity instruments such as STRC to accumulate Bitcoin. In prior periods, the company’s digital asset accumulation relied on convertible debt offerings and common stock sales. Strategy CEO Phong Le noted that digital credit issuances will serve as the company’s primary instrument for funding Bitcoin purchases moving forward.
Phong Le outlined the capital flow scenario once the preferred share vehicle begins regular operations. If Strategy raises $1 billion to $2 billion per month through STRC, a portion of the proceeds will be allocated to US dollar reserves while the remainder is deployed into Bitcoin. This structure divides incoming capital into two channels, bolstering its dollar cash liquidity buffer while expanding the coin balance on its balance sheet.
Third-Quarter Profit Surge and CFO Transition
The capacity for digital credit issuance aligns with strong third-quarter financial performance. Strategy posted a third-quarter net profit of $19.53 billion, driven by a $20.91 billion increase in the value of its digital assets. In terms of total reserves, Strategy’s Bitcoin holdings reached 848,517 BTC as of October 25, 2026, marking a 26% year-to-date increase.
Alongside the capital strategy and earnings presentation, Strategy also announced leadership changes in its finance department. CFO Andrew Kang will step down on November 5, 2026, for personal reasons. To maintain operational continuity, CEO Phong Le will oversee the finance division until Reza Virasteh officially assumes the CFO role on January 1, 2027.
For the crypto market, Strategy’s approach highlights a shift in corporate capital tactics from common stock sales toward preferred instruments. By maximizing its existing balance sheet strength, the company seeks to sustain its Bitcoin accumulation pace without relying on price rally momentum in the open market.
