Agen AI Bisa Kirim dan Terima Bitcoin Tanpa Manusia - Saldo Dipatok Maksimal 300.000 Satoshi

AI Agents Can Send and Receive Bitcoin Without Humans - Balances Capped at 300,000 Satoshis

Lightning Labs officially launched Wavelength to the public on the Bitcoin mainnet on October 23, 2026. The release enables artificial intelligence (AI) agents to send and receive payments without human intervention.

Michael Levin of Lightning Labs explained that Wavelength allows AI agents to pay for individual API calls, data feeds, compute, and inter-agent services without requiring manual approval for every transaction.

However, this machine-to-machine transactional freedom operates within measured limits.

Paying for API Calls Without Subscription Accounts

Wavelength integrates Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol (MCP). The protocol exposes wallet functionality, including sending funds, receiving payments, and checking balances, as native tools for AI coding agents. This integration directly covers tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, GitHub Copilot, and Gemini CLI.

For paid transactions, the system utilizes the L402 protocol. The workflow is straightforward: the server responds to an agent’s request by presenting a Lightning invoice, and instant payment unlocks access to the service on the spot. Developers no longer need to register monthly subscription accounts or distribute separate API keys for every agent they run.

How the Wallet Prevents AI from Accessing Private Keys

Granting monetary access to autonomous agents requires a strict separation of authority. Lightning Labs designed a wallet architecture that separates key generation and signing from the AI model channel.

AI agents only hold receive-only credentials. The model is not given access to seed phrases, passwords, or administrative wallet functions. Keys remain stored by the client system that signs user transactions, while managed operators handle transaction coordination and settlement.

During the mainnet alpha release, Lightning Labs also implemented financial safety limits. The maximum account balance is capped at 300,000 satoshis, while the value limit per virtual transaction output (vtxo) is set at 50,000 satoshis.

Ark Atomic Swaps and Emergency Withdrawal Options

Behind the scenes, Wavelength operates using an Ark-like architecture, with Lightning liquidity supported by Loop.

Incoming Lightning transfers are settled via atomic swaps into Ark balances. Conversely, when an agent wants to send funds, the Ark balance is swapped back to settle standard BOLT 11 invoices.

Service fees for send and receive transactions are set at 0.25%, plus standard routing fees on the Lightning network. Should a managed operator ever cease cooperation, fund owners retain full control via a unilateral exit option directly to Bitcoin’s on-chain layer.

For software developers, Wavelength cuts through credit card bureaucracy when coding agents require access to paid data or servers. Strict balance limits provide a safe environment to test inter-agent transactions, without the risk of losing substantial balances if the artificial intelligence code makes an execution error.
