Ripple has confirmed that several asset managers and commercial projects are preparing to leverage a new transaction feature called Batch V1.1 on the XRP Ledger. The network amendment has now secured approval from 30 of the ecosystem’s 35 validators, surpassing the minimum threshold of 28 votes or the 80% operational consensus requirement.
A 14-day activation countdown has been underway since September 15, 2026, at 14:06 UTC. The technical amendment is scheduled to go live on September 29, 2026, provided that the majority validator quorum does not drop below the safety threshold during the remaining waiting period.
Simultaneous Execution or Total Cancellation
The Batch V1.1 feature revamps transaction instruction architecture by enabling up to eight connected transactions to be bundled into a single operation. This new execution process adopts the atomic all-or-nothing principle, a security protocol that ensures no transactions are left in an incomplete or hanging state.
All orders within the batch must execute completely and simultaneously on the ledger. If the network detects a validation failure in even a single transaction, the engine immediately cancels the entire bundle, leaving no trace of partial execution on the blockchain.
How Crypto Exchanges Can Benefit
This absolute cancellation mechanism is a key technical requirement for executing delivery-versus-payment (DvP) settlement models, which link asset transfers directly with payment settlements. Two separate parties exchanging value no longer require centralized intermediaries, as the network’s native infrastructure ensures funds are transferred at the exact moment the asset is delivered.
For commercial developers across crypto exchanges, wallet providers, and marketplace platforms, this new transaction model introduces daily operational efficiencies. Service operators can seamlessly embed platform fee deductions directly into user transaction flows through a single, streamlined settlement cycle.
Ayo Akinyele, Head of Engineering at RippleX, noted that the core developer team continues to collaborate with leading asset managers to accelerate the release toward mass production. For institutional financial players, guaranteed absolute order settlement on a public blockchain serves as a foundational pillar for legal and operational certainty, rather than just a technical convenience.
