Celah di Node Non-Windows Sejak Versi 24 Ditutup Bitcoin Core 32.0 - Estimasi Biaya Turun Lebih Cepat

Bitcoin Core 32.0 Patches Non-Windows Node Vulnerability Open Since Version 24 - Fee Estimates Drop Faster

The first release candidate for the upcoming Bitcoin Core update officially rolled out on September 14, 2026, at 12:58 UTC via commit d0231bb. The v32.0rc1 release, bearing verified signatures from codebase maintainers, delivers a critical fix: patching a security vulnerability on non-Windows operating systems that had remained open since version 24.0. In previous versions, users with wallet creation permissions could craft wallet names containing trap command payloads. If the walletnotify feature was enabled on that node, this malicious code would execute directly on the host server. Starting with version 32, wallet names are parsed purely as literal text to mitigate command injection risks.

Smarter Fee Estimation, Significantly Faster Syncing

Transaction fee calculation logic has also received a methodology update. The software’s estimation system now compares two calculations simultaneously: estimate figures derived from recently mined blocks and mempool-based estimates from pending transactions waiting in queue. The algorithm processes both data points and prioritizes the lower figure. This comparative mechanism ensures fee suggestions in user applications respond and drop faster once network congestion eases.

Node processing speeds during block validation have also been boosted, as the engine now retrieves transaction data from the database across multiple execution threads simultaneously. The default setting allocates eight threads when validating new blocks, making the blockchain synchronization process significantly faster for node operators.

No Changes to Consensus Rules

The feature freeze was locked on August 20, followed by the branching of the 32.x development branch from master on September 14. As version 32 shifts into testing, development on version 33 has also commenced in parallel.

The target release date for the final 32.0 version is scheduled for October 10, 2026, though this timeline remains tentative and could be pushed back depending on findings during testing. Node operators can submit detailed issue reports through a dedicated GitHub issues tracker opened on September 15.

All security patches and performance improvements in this release do not alter the Bitcoin network’s core consensus rules. Transaction validity and block verification continue under existing parameters. Since Bitcoin Core software does not include auto-update functionality, operators retain full control over when to upgrade their nodes. Older software versions will continue operating normally without disruption after v32.0 is publicly released. Reported by CoinDesk.
