Michael Saylor Hints at Bitcoin Accumulation at $77,800 - Even as Spot ETFs Shed $643 Million

Michael Saylor has once again shared a cryptic hint about Bitcoin accumulation. On Sunday, November 1, 2026, the Strategy Executive Chairman posted an orange-themed chart on his X account with a brief message: “We found room for even more orange.” The post appeared as Bitcoin traded around $77,804 - up 0.45% over the past 24 hours - after briefly tumbling to $76,100 following the shock of a $6.3 billion Binance breach on October 29.

For the crypto market, Saylor’s post was not merely an ordinary graphic, but a recurring signal that has repeatedly preceded official announcements of coin purchases by his company.

A Recurring Pattern Ahead of Monday

The orange-themed tweets have consistently served as cryptic signals before Strategy discloses its Bitcoin purchases on Mondays. Following the firm’s regular routine, Saylor did not reveal the number of coins acquired or confirm the settlement status of the transaction when the image was shared publicly. A similar pattern was seen in their previous move on October 19, 2026, when Strategy bought 267 Bitcoin, bringing its total crypto treasury holdings to 848,517 BTC. Alongside that purchase, the company raised its digital credit security (STRC) repurchase authorization from $2 billion to $3 billion.

Third-quarter financial results released on October 29 confirmed that Strategy’s Bitcoin holdings have grown 26% since the beginning of 2026. During Q3 alone, the company bought 7,218 BTC valued at $588.1 million and sold 5,552 BTC. These inflows and outflows resulted in a net addition of 1,666 BTC to its corporate reserve balance sheet.

A Thin Cushion Above Cost Basis

The stash of hundreds of thousands of coins now faces market price action hovering close to the company’s acquisition cost. Financial statements as of September 30 showed Strategy holding 847,666 BTC at an original purchase cost of $63.95 billion, yielding an average cost basis of $75,437 per coin. At the current market price of around $77,804, trading sits just roughly 3.1% above that September average cost basis. That margin narrowed even further when prices dipped to $76,100 following news of the Binance breach.

To support corporate expansion and Bitcoin accumulation, Strategy raised $21.23 billion in capital during the first ten months of 2026. This war chest comes at a time when institutional fund managers in US capital markets are pulling back. On October 30, US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded net outflows of $643.2 million in a single day. BlackRock’s IBIT fund led the asset offloading with $233.7 million in sales.

For market participants and Bitcoin holders, verification of Saylor’s signals usually does not take long. The answer to the orange chart puzzle will be revealed in Monday morning’s official filing: exactly how many coins Strategy absorbed into its treasury while ETF markets were cashing out hundreds of millions of dollars.
