OKXICE Siapkan Tokenisasi 62 Saham AS - 50 Emiten Justru Pakai Hak SEC untuk Menolak

OKXICE Set to Tokenize 62 US Stocks - 50 Issuers Exercise SEC Rights to Opt Out

A total of 50 public companies in the United States have officially rejected plans to tokenize their shares on the OKXICE platform. According to a public announcement by OKXICE on Oct. 30, 2026, the pushback came from the vast majority of the originally targeted issuers. Out of 62 companies representing 63 stock tickers initially lined up for tokenization by the joint venture between crypto exchange OKX and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), most have now opted out.

The wave of pushback surged over a four-day span. OKXICE data reveals that the number of opposing firms climbed from 26 on Oct. 26 to 38 on Oct. 28, before reaching 50 on Oct. 30. The 24 new objections lodged during those four days included 12 corporations named in the latest announcement: Nvidia, Nike, Costco, Micron, Reddit, CrowdStrike, Corning, IREN, USA Rare Earth, Bloom Energy, Palo Alto Networks, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise. They join other major issuers that objected earlier, including Microsoft, Alphabet, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, AMD, Intel, and Walmart.

A specific provision from the US securities regulator provided the legal grounds for the issuers’ stance.

30-Day Objection Window Under SEC Rules

The legal basis for the opt-outs rests on the temporary trading exemption provisions issued by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) dated Sept. 17, 2026. Under the rule, platforms are required to notify issuers prior to offering third-party tokenized equities to the public.

Issuers have 30 calendar days from receiving the notice to submit a formal written objection. If this right is exercised, the SEC strictly prohibits platforms from offering tokenized shares of that company under the exemption framework. This 30-day window was utilized by the 50 issuers to block their tokenized shares from being listed on OKXICE.

Alleged Nasdaq Role and Uniswap v4 Design

Reports of rival exchange involvement have also circulated across the market. Allegations emerged that representatives from Nasdaq actively encouraged companies listed on its exchange to reject the OKXICE initiative. Nasdaq declined to comment directly on the claims, but reaffirmed its preference for issuer-led tokenization initiatives.

OKXICE itself is operated by OKXICE LLC, a 50:50 joint venture between Intercontinental Exchange Holdings and OKC USA Holding. The platform was designed using permissioned liquidity pools on Uniswap v4 atop OKX’s XLayer blockchain, featuring trading pairs denominated in the USDC and USDG stablecoins.

Boundaries Drawn for Stock Tokenization

For crypto market participants, this mass pushback highlights the operational boundaries of third-party platforms. Partnering with the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange and leveraging Uniswap v4 technology does not guarantee smooth sailing if issuers refuse to have their shares tokenized. As long as issuers retain objection rights under SEC rules, US equity tokenization initiatives will continue to require direct permission from the underlying companies.
