Revolut Kalahkan Valuasi Barclays di Angka $115 Miliar - Padahal Belum Masuk Bursa Publik

Revolut Surpasses Barclays with $115 Billion Valuation - Before Even Going Public

Crypto-friendly digital bank Revolut has reached a $115 billion valuation through a secondary share sale. According to an internal message from CEO Nik Storonsky reported by the Wall Street Journal, the share price was set at $2,017, making Revolut the most valuable private company in Europe.

This valuation marks a 53% surge in less than a year compared to its $75 billion valuation in November 2025. Looking further back, its value has more than doubled from $45 billion in 2024.

What makes this surge notable is the nature of the transaction.

Not a New Capital Raise

This transaction is purely a secondary share sale with no new capital entering company coffers. The scheme simply allows employees and early shareholders to sell portions of their holdings to outside investors.

Even so, the pricing benchmark from this private transaction is enough to unseat traditional banking giants. At $115 billion, Revolut surpasses the valuation of Barclays, which sits around $95 billion. However, this comparison comes with a caveat: Revolut’s value is derived from private markets, while Barclays is measured by daily trading on public stock exchanges.

Strong business performance underpins this premium valuation. Throughout 2025, Revolut generated $6 billion in revenue, up 46% from the previous year. Pre-tax profit also rose 57% to $2.3 billion, alongside user base growth surpassing 75 million customers.

Crypto Infrastructure and Regulatory Licenses

A key driver of their business appeal lies in digital asset features. Within a single app, users can trade over 200 crypto tokens, stake assets, and transfer coins to external wallets. Revolut also operates its own dedicated crypto exchange called Revolut X.

These services are supported by an expanding regulatory framework. Revolut holds a MiCA license to offer crypto services across the European Union. In banking, the company secured a full UK banking license last March and is currently processing an application for a national bank charter in the United States.

Targeting a $200 Billion IPO Valuation

Armed with banking licenses and crypto services, management is reportedly discussing valuation targets of up to $200 billion for its future initial public offering (IPO).

For employees holding onto their shares in this round, the calculation is clear: they are waiting for the day public market doors open and private figures face direct testing by public investors.
