SEC Gandakan 4x Batas Opsi IBIT BlackRock - Bertepatan AUM Firma Ini Tembus $15,3 Triliun, Pertama dalam Sejarah

SEC Quadruples BlackRock IBIT Options Limit as Firm’s AUM Crosses Historic $15.3 Trillion

BlackRock has secured a major regulatory victory after the SEC approved a fourfold increase in the options position limit for the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) - surging from 250,000 to 1 million contracts. The approval comes as the asset giant’s assets under management officially crossed $15.3 trillion, a milestone never before achieved by any investment firm in history.

What Changed and Why

The rule change was proposed by NYSE Arca pursuant to Section 19(b)(1) of the US Securities Exchange Act and Rule 19b-4, taking effect immediately even as the SEC continues to seek public feedback on the proposal. The rationale is straightforward: NYSE Arca stated that the previous 250,000-contract limit no longer reflected current IBIT options trading activity. With a 1 million-contract ceiling, market demand is expected to be better accommodated, giving market makers more room to manage inventory and hedge their positions.

The increase also brings IBIT in line with similar limits long established on other options exchanges, including Nasdaq ISE, Nasdaq PHLX, and BOX Exchange. In other words, BlackRock’s Bitcoin product is now treated on equal footing with other mature instruments - a maturation signal that is hard to overlook.

Background on the $15.3 Trillion Giant

The SEC’s decision comes shortly after BlackRock released its second-quarter fiscal 2026 financial report: revenue climbed 31% year-over-year, and the company raised its quarterly share buyback target to $550 million. IBIT itself has seen robust investor inflows over the past week, cementing its position as one of the largest spot Bitcoin ETFs in the US.

According to an official post on X by Cointelegraph, BlackRock’s total assets under management (AUM) has now officially surpassed $15.3 trillion - making it the first investment firm in history to breach the $15 trillion threshold, with its digital asset products alone reaching $110 billion. BlackRock also recently joined a tokenization pilot by the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) alongside JPMorgan Chase and Goldman Sachs, exploring blockchain-based settlement for US equities and Treasuries. However, it is worth emphasizing: this SEC approval is specific to regulated options on NYSE Arca and does not affect trading rules for tokenized securities.

These figures tell a story much bigger than a single ETF. When an institution the size of BlackRock is granted substantially expanded headroom to trade Bitcoin options, an asset once considered fringe becomes ever more deeply woven into mainstream financial plumbing. For investors, the question is no longer whether Wall Street takes Bitcoin seriously, but how deeply they are already involved.
