Developers of the MyDoge wallet, application network DogeOS, and merchant payment provider Such App have officially united to establish a new entity called Dogecoin Labs. This step was taken through a partnership with the Dogecoin Foundation, aiming to expand the practical utility of DOGE into everyday transactions.
Jordan Jefferson, founder of MyDoge and DogeOS, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Dogecoin Labs. In this partnership, the Dogecoin Foundation and its commercial arm, House of Doge, are contributing intellectual property and deploying a team of developers to support Dogecoin Labs’ commercial product lineup.
Three Pillars from Wallet to Checkout Counter
Dogecoin Labs’ business plan integrates three operational pillars: decentralized applications on DogeOS, the user interface on MyDoge, and merchant checkout acceptance via Such App. This unification connects the entire DOGE transaction lifecycle, from user interactions in the wallet to payment processing at the checkout register.
The MyDoge wallet has recorded more than 500,000 users. Accompanying the formation of this new entity, MyDoge released a V3 update that connects the wallet app directly to various decentralized applications on the DogeOS network. Meanwhile, Such App serves merchant checkout needs by issuing invoices and scanning QR codes, enabling shops to accept DOGE directly from customers.
Testing dApps Off the Main Chain
The computing and application foundation of this ecosystem rests on DogeOS. The DogeOS public testnet has been live since September 30, 2026, to support decentralized exchanges, lending protocols, and token-based games. The entire dApp system operates in an environment separate from the main Dogecoin chain.
Separation from the main chain aims to keep the DOGE ledger from being burdened by transaction traffic from smart contracts and games. With a segregated network structure, developers can test contract functionality and decentralized applications on DogeOS without disrupting coin transfer transactions on the main Dogecoin chain.
Reliance on Selected Operators
Although application testing is already underway on the testnet, DogeOS architecture still has fundamental limitations. The mathematical proof link designed to anchor DogeOS security directly to the Dogecoin blockchain currently remains in draft status.
Because those mathematical proofs have not yet been finalized, the DogeOS system currently relies on selected operators to validate network operations. For users and merchants anticipating payment and dApp integrations, full decentralization of DogeOS will only materialize once the cryptographic security link to the main Dogecoin blockchain is completed.
