Trump Media Geser 2.628 BTC ke Crypto.com - Transaksi $165 Juta yang Membawa Tanda Tanya

Trump Media Transfers 2,628 BTC to Crypto.com - $165 Million Transaction Raises Questions

Trump Media has transferred 2,628 BTC worth $165 million to the Crypto.com exchange. News of the fund transfer emerged from a post on X by @Cointelegraph on August 2, 2026, which immediately highlighted the maneuver by one of these corporate Bitcoin holders.

The WatcherGuru account also confirmed the transfer, reinforcing the validity of the blockchain movement data. The report from Cointelegraph, which has 2.9 million followers, quickly drew 583 likes and 76 retweets, showing that the market is always sensitive when thousands of coins move to exchanges from large institutional wallets.

Prior to this transaction, Trump Media had built their Bitcoin position, with reports indicating their average purchase price was $118,522 per coin. The market price when this news circulated valued their 2,628 BTC at around $165 million, a substantial figure in the crypto ecosystem.

Sell, Custody, or Collateral?

Depositing a large amount of assets into a Crypto.com wallet raises three main possibilities. The large-scale centralized exchange platform not only serves retail buying and selling for regular users, but also offers institutional custody services and private exchange transactions to facilitate large capital players.

It is important to note that, as of now, there has been no official confirmation from management regarding the final purpose of this transfer. Whether the move indicates a partial asset liquidation, simply a change in custody settings for security reasons, or moving the coins as collateral to obtain a cash loan, remains an open question.

Although the exact intention has not been revealed, moving hundreds of millions of dollars in assets from self-custody to a centralized exchange is often the initial preparation phase before a subsequent financial execution is carried out by the company’s financial managers.

A Psychological Test for Corporate Crypto Holders

The timing of this transaction is a crucial part of the overall story. Trump Media’s fund transfer occurred just as the sentiment of corporate Bitcoin holders was undergoing a severe test. Another institutional player, MicroStrategy, had previously reported losses of up to $8.22 billion and decided to pause additional coin purchases.

The fact that an aggressive player like MicroStrategy is beginning to slow down its accumulation signals clearly that the corporate market is taking a cautious stance. When institutional confidence is tested by a downward price trend, the transfer of another entity’s 2,600 Bitcoin to an exchange adds a layer of psychological burden for retail market participants to digest.

Large funds tend to seek protective strategies when conditions deteriorate. For the public that constantly monitors corporate wallet activity, confirming whether these thousands of BTC end up sold or are simply resting in Crypto.com’s digital vaults is key to predicting short-term sentiment.
